I'm done with this site...

Because I know you'll need an example of dipshit posters, see Jordo. Thanks.

He will keep it up. He already has a taste of what it's like to have fake power, just like cry4fail did. There is a reason why after every one of his infractions he comes on the threads to discuss it, and sometimes mocks others.

Not sure where either of you guys are getting your info, as I wasn't aware either party had access to new member rates or unique traffic activity. I certainly don't have access to that, so I'm just not going to say what will or won't work. All I can say is that it doesn't matter how a site is run, somebody complains.
Who do you want complaining then? Highschool sports posters who come post few times a week, or the actual members that drive the site? Not adifficult decision for me.

Turdo. (For O-Trap, this is a basement post, thus name calling is allowed. Don't want to rustle your jimmies and get you all excited with an infractable post. Sorry to let you down)

Well, when you post regularly and the only new members you see are posters creating fake accounts it would lead me to believe there are no new posters coming in...

Also, I have suggested this before, but here I go again, how about thread banning? That will resolve every issue. The main reason for these new rules were to eliminate thread derailing. Well a thread is only derailed when 2 or more posters get involved into an argument not related to the topic. Ban them from the thread, and it's over. Much better option than being an uptight dipshit mod who infracts people then taunts them.

    A sophomoric threat. I'm quivering.

Your opinion holds nothing when virtually everyone sees you as an Internet hardass who doesn't phrase anything that would take more than five brain cells to rub together. Common sense is a logical fallacy, but then, I wouldn't expect you to know that. As for our "best posters," if that's you and the few that seem to "cry" more any anyone else about the Mods, then I'd love to see what your utopian site would look like.
  • Commander of Awesome
Who said anything aout a utopian site? Grasping for straws. Funny how when you rep me, you're all over my nuts and positive, yet when well deserved criticism is thrown your way you get defensive and snarky. No wonder you've contemplated suicide in the past, you have the emotions of a 13 yr old girl.

Dear lord, tell me you don't actually think someone would enjoy dealing with crybabies. The fewer issues, the better, or don't you get that?

I frankly would rather nobody complain, hence why I try to stay out of these kinds of things.

I think I'll manage, thanks to your help clearing that up.

But you've already admited that no matter what, someone is going to complain. Stop wishing for a "Utopian site" and acting like an asshat.

I don't mind criticism at all. I mind neanderthalic namecalling and childish arguing, the latter of which your post here demonstrates pretty well.

Just because somebody's going to complain doesn't mean I should base anything off who complains. If someone wants to throw a tantrum like a toddler, that's up to them, and if they're going to do that, I don't really care what forum they post on or how frequently.
  • Commander of Awesome
No it was your smug ass remarks to well deserved criticism over an obvious over stepping of mod boundaries. "I've gotten approval from a second source". No one buys that bc anyone that can rub 5 brain cells together (see what I did there? I threw your childish remarks back in your face. lolfail qq-trap) would know that is was a friendly remark. The trigger happy infractions that you've dished out is a joke and turning some of the better posters on this site away. I thoughly enjoy the OC and would love for you to stop driving the best posters away, as this site provides teh lulz and gets me through the work day, plus awesome sports talk.

Can we ever fucking go a day where someone isnt crying that a mod did this or didn't do this?? Fuck want to be a mod take my spot! I love the site, I just can't post as much because I am much more busy than ever but since I stop posting as much I read the site alot more. There is a collective group of posters and you damn well know who you are, everyone does, that thinks its cute to just troll, whine, bitch, complain, etc...and you wonder why shit like this happens to posters. Mods damned if do damned if don't. A fucking infraction on the interwebs and you cry at the top of your lungs. What the hell do you do when something goes wrong in real life? Probably open the basement door and yell to mommy. Bitches!

Back to Hoops. Ya can't leave us on the Tribe threads!

Back to where the thread is now:

"ass hat". I haven't heard that one in a while. I like it.

Oh, I like this one, too.

Anything but normalcy with which I reply isn't from criticism, but the arbitrary or baseless claims that may surround it.
Commander of Awesome;1228229 wrote:"I've gotten approval from a second source". No one buys that bc anyone that can rub 5 brain cells together (see what I did there? I threw your childish remarks back in your face. lolfail qq-trap) would know that is was a friendly remark.
#1 - It's not for you to "buy." I told you what happened. You can cry about it. You can ignore it. You can stick your head in the sand and think you know better. It changes nothing.

#2 - As for the colloquialism you refer to as a childish remark, you've used it in a manner to suggest that people should all readily acknowledge arbitrary social constructs through a medium which is hardly the clearest form of communication. Your attempt at being coy would have succeeded had it actually been applicable in its context. As it stands, nobody who has taken so much as a community college course on logic would have seen that as anything but an awkward attempt to use common language in a rebuttal in which it doesn't fit.

#3 - There has been so much complaining about how the letter of the rules needs to be what is enforced. If DW's post, which was not obviously ribbing, is a problem, then by the letter of the law, so would the subsequent post. I knew what hoops was trying to accomplish, but once again, there would be a bitch-fest like the one you are portraying here if anything was done about a "Fuck you" post, but not a "you, fuck" post. Some infantile poster would then go around saying "you, fuck" in every other post with the defense that, "Hey, it's not against the rules."
Commander of Awesome;1228229 wrote:The trigger happy infractions that you've dished out is a joke and turning some of the better posters on this site away.
Care to share names of the "better" posters in this horrible diaspora as a result of a single day's events, assuming there had been a mistake made? If you have a problem with the site's running as a whole, that's one thing, but to try to blame anything on what is probably one of the least active Mods on here is akin to Chicken Little claiming the sky is falling.
Commander of Awesome;1228229 wrote:I thoughly enjoy the OC and would love for you to stop driving the best posters away, as this site provides teh lulz and gets me through the work day, plus awesome sports talk.
I thoroughly enjoy it as well, and I'd love for it to be a place for adults to discuss current events, sports, and even the more light-hearted topics. However, when people begin to troll with an inordinate number of posts claiming to "pwn" people, and another substantial portion of posts that do nothing but whine about what they don't like about how the site is run (ironic how much you're 'QQing' about it, given your use of that term directed toward others), it drastically takes away from what could otherwise be mature discussion.
Commander of Awesome;1228231 wrote:Typical smug remark, only difference is you didn't throw a brain cell fail in there. lol at calling me childish though, look in the mirror little guy.
Reading comprehension would dictate that I called your ACTIONS childish. Not you. Given that your rant here is not that dissimilar in both persistence and logic to a toddler, your rant here fits. You are not a child, as I've seen you make posts on here that were fine, and even things I agreed with (hence the reps where I'm apparently "on your nuts"). But in this instance, you're indeed throwing a tantrum about something that had nothing to do with you.
Commander of Awesome;1228232 wrote:Que the "I'm down with this discussion, I no longer have to explain myself, I'm all powahful modz!!!! " failsponse.

Not at all. I do my best to be understood, and if that requires more discussion, I'm open to it. I don't understand why people get so emotional about warnings, infractions, etc. Granted, I like this place, but it's not the end of the world if someone doesn't get their way, and the level of emotive responses (not just your own) that result from every damn action the Moderators take is asinine. Things like comparing this place to the way JJ Huddle was because you get an infraction for saying "Fuck you" are laughable. The comparison is ludicrous, as I'm starting to think most people forget what JJ was like. Even in its infancy you couldn't say "Fuck you" there. You couldn't use profanity at all for most of its lifespan.

Now, you can continue to whine all you'd like. You can throw out the occasional "pwn" and "lolfail" and whatever else you think somehow sounds more respectable. So long as you communicate your inability to understand, I'll continue to dialogue, because as annoying as these kinds of conversations are (annoying enough to hate so much as doing anything to enforce any rules whatsoever), the potential to reach SOME sort of civil, adult coexistence is preferable.
Fab1b;1228234 wrote:Can we ever fucking go a day where someone isnt crying that a mod did this or didn't do this??
There are those on this forum whose post totals would be half what they are if there was no complaining about the moderation.
Fab1b;1228234 wrote:Fuck want to be a mod take my spot!
No fucking kidding. I don't know how someone can look at this, the umpteenth conversation that went about this exact same way, and think that anyone would enjoy it, sans maybe the occasional troll who starts ranting for the sole purpose of causing trouble.
Fab1b;1228234 wrote:I love the site, I just can't post as much because I am much more busy than ever but since I stop posting as much I read the site alot more. I honestly don't mind the thread. Hoops23 isn't the bad guy in the grand scheme of things, here. Actually, I retracted his infraction back about three hours ago or so, but that didn't matter, because the level of bitching for the sole purpose of bitching on this thread hasn't been him.
jordo212000;1228289 wrote:I find myself posting less and less because of like_that and CoA.

His starting the thread prompted the whining, and that's why I said if he had a problem with you, then he should have taken the complaint TO you. The whining has been a direct reaction to his action, even if hasn't done the majority of it.
