lol, Durant just caught the ball from Westbrook and took 5-6 steps out near halfcourt. I know they don't call traveling but dang.
  • The Boss
The BOSTON CELTICS didn't score for the last 4:30 in an elimination game that they were winning. Like I said, they're the best defensive team in the NBA.
  • Terry_Tate
BTW, Conley is 3/14 tonight and has taken 5 more shots than anyone else(Tony Allen with 9). Definitely not a recipe for success for Memphis.
  • Midstate01
LBJ apologized to Cleveland fans tonight for the way he left. IF he had done this back then and not had the decision show, I'd have still been mad, but I'd root for him as a player.

I understand his chance of a lifetime statement, don't really even disagree. But he could have and should have said this a long time ago.

Memphis is ugly to watch offensively with Sam Young and Tony Allen both out there at once. Never good when a team can defend your 2 wings by backing 5 feet off of them and daring them to shoot.

Interesting point on the Heat-Celtics series. Seems like a lot of people were talking about LeBron "exorcising his Celtics demons" in this series and how he talked about "not being able to beat this team alone". My question to you all is, is anyone willing to actually argue that the Celtics team the Heat just beat are even a shell of the teams that LeBron and the Cavs faced in 2008 and 2010? I'm not going to go into hypothetical things like whether or not last year's Cavs team (or even the 08 or 09 team) would've had much trouble with this year's Celtics...but I think you'd be hard pressed to say that this Celtics team (year older, injured Rondo, injured Shaq, no Perkins, weren't peaking, etc.) was as good as either of those other teams that reached the finals.

If that's the case, why is the win by LeBron and the Heat being portrayed as such a "vindication"?

They already celebrated their "given" championships prior to the season when the Three Dildos were introduced last July in that gaudy/sad spectacle they had in Miami. Florida sports fans = the worst

Good point. I've been saying this ALL along. The CHeat has found the "perfect storm." Coming into these playoffs I thought they were probably the 4th-5th best team in the NBA. From there they get to deal with an aging/injured Celts team who's dumbass GM jettisons their strength (Perkins) in a trade and perhaps their best player (Rondo) gets hurt. The odds on favorites (Lakers) somehow shit in their hats and the NBA (TRUE) MVP (Rose) gets dinged up too. If now wasn't the perfect time for the Three Dildos to win a ring, I don't know when would be. Still think Dallas prevents this. Anything short of a ring after their gaudy celebration is a complete bust for the CHeat.

Last night was NO vindication for the Clown. Butthole couldn't get it done in Cleveland with HIS handpicked choices so he bolted. And before our resident cock slurping Lebron nuthugger tries to blame the GM, Larry Hughes, Donyell Marshall, Damon Jones, Wallyworld, Delonte, Ben Wallace, Jamison, Shaq, etc were ALL Lebron's handpicked choices the HE signed off on yet wasn't good enough to get it done with. Beating an aging/beat up Boston team is nothing spectacular.

Dumb. I don't think any REALISTIC fan was expecting a ring in the first season together. If it hasn't happened in the second or even third season, then I would call it a bust. But doesn't matter, their gonna get it this year.

Not at all. With the celebration they had and those clowns saying "six, seven rings", anything less than a ring THIS year is a bust. They set themselves up for this and have only themselves to blame if they don't. You could see Pat Riley shifting in his seat/mentally facepalming himself at their big "gala" when they (Three Dildos) threw out this claim. And who said anything about "fans?" This was the CHeat who boasted this claim.

    Dumb.

Going into the playoffs, if I were to tell you that the Heat are in the ECF and the Lakers, Magic, Celtics, Spurs, hell even the Knicks are all gone, you would think the Heat are CLEAR favorites to win the title. When people talk about the teams remaining, you say "MAYBE the Mavs have a shot at taking down the Heat" That right there tells you that anything less than a ring is a huge disappointment.

It's like Kansas in the March Madness tournament. If before the tourney started you told me that if they didn't win a title this year, it would be a huge disappointment I would have disagreed. Now, if before the tourney started, you told me KU would be in the Elite 8 and would have to beat VCU, Butler, and UCONN to win the title, I would tell you anything less than a title I would be extremely upset.

Let me start by saying that I'm not trying to tell you that you need to be a fan of his, or that you need to root for him or whatever. This is to BR too but I'm not going to quote all his BS.

LeBron didn't have to say this at all, so regardless of when it came, you should appreciate it because you all wanted some sort of apology. He didn't owe one to anyone. He came out of high school and didn't get to pick where he went. He went to the worst team in the league and completely turned that franchise around. Regardless of what BR says, those of us who actually pay attention know that LeBron didn't handpick his teammates. He was part of the decision making process, but the front office made the decisions. LeBron TRIED (it's been documented) to get some big names to Cleveland, the front office tried, Dan Gilbert tried. None of them wanted to come. LeBron went through TWO contracts--he could have bolted after one. He was put in a terrible situation from draft day on but he put the time and effort into doing his part. He was FORCED (because of the draft) to play the hometown hero role in a town that wasn't even his hometown. It was far more emotional driven than what most players have to go through, and he did GREAT things for the city of Cleveland.

Midstate, you said IF he had apologized long ago and NOT had the decision show you'd still be mad. So, I have to say, thanks for the honesty because most people can't admit that. Most people want to bullshit the world and say they hate him because of how he left--which may be, but they also hate him BECAUSE he left whether they admit it or not. Personally, I didn't like the decision show either, but I don't think LeBron did either. First of all, in this age he has a certain obligation to the media to do something more than just say he's leaving from the locker room. Second, you could see how uncomfortable he was during it--remember, this was the brain child of Maverick Carter. And in the end I think while it may have broken some hearts (the show especially), he was going to be hated in Cleveland no matter what. But the decision show did a lot of good--it allowed him an hour in primetime to pimp his sponsors (all of the ads were from his endorsers) and it raised A LOT of money for the Boys and Girls club. Half a million of that money went to the Cleveland area club. So swallow your pride as a sports fan and realize that you're just using that as an excuse to hate him. Admit that you would have hated him anyways (not directed at you Midstate, you already did) and the show just gives you something to cite so that you don't have to say, "I miss him playing for my team". LeBron is not an evil guy, moving to Miami was the right move and he put a lot of effort into STAYING in Cleveland but the stars just didn't align. Just appreciate what he did for your awful franchise for 7 years and quit hating so much. Because you're missing a chance to appreciate the greatness. We've got 2 players playing at THE highest level on the same team and they compliment each other beautifully. It's a joy to watch.

As far as vindication against the C's. All of the things that were mentioned aside, they earned their little celebration. The Celtics have been the kryptonite to both LeBron AND DWade. And they both played lights out and finished them off in 5 games to finally get over that hurdle. You heard LeBron, the Celtics were the blueprint for the guys getting together in Miami. That was the monkey they had to get off their back.

Anyways, you can hate all you want--it doesn't bother me (actually I like it, it's entertaining). But this is going to go on for 5, 6, 7 seasons so you might as well just accept it and move on at this point. All the questions everyone had about them have been answered, they are for real, deal with it.

Disregard SQ's comment....you can't respect an opinion of someone SO jaded that they can't see the truth because they have #6's ballsack covering his eyelids. Lebron James is "perfect' in his world. Always has been, always will be. Never a criticism to be heard from SQ about ole' LBJ. Unlike some of us who defended Lebron, yet were still critical of him.
  • The Boss
Which part of what I typed do you have a problem with?
  • BR1986FB
"he put a lot of effort into STAYING in Cleveland'

Bullshit...he didn't actively recruit (and don't give me the Bosh crap) marquee players to come here. Sure, he pleaded for/signed off on guys like Damon Jones, Shaq, Jamison, etc and then threw them under the bus basically saying "YOU weren't good enough" when they were HIS choices, after the fact. He "no shows" at the airport when Michael Redd is coming here to look at Cleveland as a FA. He put NO effort into staying in Cleveland, but he sure as Hell recruited like a mofo once he hit South Beach.

The word let and it...oh and everything you said in between those 2 words.

Lebron's apology is a joke. He knew he was leaving way before the "Decision" and he gave the Cavs absolutely no heads up to make adjustments to their roster. The Cavs found out the same way me you and everyone else did. You can't slap an organization any more in the face than that. He was asked several times if he wanted to apologize to Cavs fans and the organization months ago and each time he said he has nothing to apologize for. All of a sudden, AFTER they make it to the Conf Finals he wants to apologize.
For you to say his "decision" was done to raise money for charities and is obligated to please the "Media" is freaking joke and that it was someone else's idea and "brainchild". If you think Lebron is so dumb as to agree to do something that he supposedly didn't want to do then your head is farther up his behind than even I imagined.

You guys are VERY naive. You need to read more books, especially about athletes.

Anyways, the statement I quoted is just dumb. You're ASSUMING he knew he was leaving before the Decision. You may be right, but you may not be--don't act like you know more than anyone else. And come on, they were in the middle of the biggest free agent period in the history of the league and they couldn't bring anyone in to help LeBron. What kind of adjustments do you think they could have made if they would have had a few weeks notice that they WEREN'T going to have LeBron--who the hell is going to Cleveland then? Nobody. It was a sign and trade BTW, for all of you who want to conveniently ignore that fact and he DID NOT have to do that.
