Lol at you saying I am concerned with Capone yet everywhere I post you sure seem to find your way in the thread with one of your gems. I am sure you will spin that accusation though. I have said it before and keep saying it; you are a hypocrite piece of shit.
Now what will be your next gem response? Maybe your original "oh yeah you got me man, nice one" responses. Lol your douche bagginess never ceases to amaze me. -
Automatiklol...just pointing out that "your panties are in a bunch" yet again. Lighten up...its Friday.
How many times will you bitch about someone being "passive aggressive"? Ohhh no...wahhhhhhhh. -
jordo212000
Actually I wasn't being condescending at all. Go look at the thread again. Where's the archive of old threads? I was big on Choo and Santana and told fans they should be attending the games to watch them play.I was the one trumpeting how much good talent they had in that attendance thread. You guys were the ones crushing the organization

I think most Indians fans are getting caught up with name recognition. There aren't many guys with buzz power, but Choo and Santana alone should make you want to watch.
Fans aren't going and won't show up bc the team won't spend money, but bc 6k are going to the games, the Dolans aren't going to spend money. And why would they? I think they will be fine next year, when the young pitching develops. I just hope fans start watching Choo and Santana before they leave town. You his are missing out on seeing some nice talentjordo212000;731955 wrote: Back to providing nothing relevant to the conversation I see. If you actually read my post, you would see that I complemented some of the talent on the team. They are a few good pitchers away from being a player in the Central. However, the majority of the fans in NE Ohio don't seem to be noticing that there is actually some talent on the team.
I don't understand how you can't follow my logic. You all complain about what the Dolans spend, but then you yourselves aren't willing to spend $20 to go to a game. If I was Dolan I wouldn't spend money either.
If he spends a ton of money and they keep losing, you guys will bail on them then as well meaning he'll be earning even less money. Best to be frugal, draft well, and build internally and then hope fans notice that there are good players on the team and that they have a top 10 stadium in the league to watch it in

By the way, I love how everybody is a "troll" despite the fact that you are one of the few people around here who has actually been banned for being a troll.
This all happened a few games into the season when Indians fans were on their collective ledges about how good the team was.jordo212000;731955 wrote:You guys are going to be fine. Keep developing pitching and then use some of that Hafner money on some other pieces. I seriously think the Tribe will contending in the Central next season. I'm not trolling or anything. I just hate to see people trash their team 3 games into the season, especially when there is some great young talent you could be watching. As Reds and Indians fans, we aren't ever sure how long we'll get to see them, so you need to take advantage while you can. -
WriterbuckeyeI'll take issue with one aspect of your posts regarding the Dolans.
IF the Dolans had at least spent some bucks to keep their Cy Young winners as they rebuilt the rest of the team with younger players, I doubt you'd have seen so much bailing by the fans.
When ownership basically says (by its actions) that they don't care if the team loses close to 100 games, why should I, as a fan, care much less spend the money to see games?
I grew up in the nuclear winter era of Indians baseball (1960s-1980s) when all they did was develop a few good young players and immediately trade or sell them to contenders like the Yankees. It was like watching a AAA franchise for NY and other good teams. Back then, fans also stayed away in droves because it was arguably the worst run franchise in all of baseball.
There's a lot of that institutional memory still out there -- even though a good number of fans who grew up in the hey day of the 1990s were so spoiled by what Jacobs was able to do, that NOTHING the Dolans do now will ever be good enough.
Bottom line: it takes some effort (i.e. money) from ownership to win fan trust. -

So fans care more about the team spending money than they do about the team winning? The Indians have the same record as the Phillies, yet the fanbase is still extremely apathetic. -

Yeah but the weather is horrible in Cleveland! If Philadelphia had the same weather, there would be poor attendance at Citizen's Bank too. -
AutomatikTied for the best record in baseball and last in average attendance. lol.....best fanbase!!!

I know, I had forgot that bad weather and cold temperatures only occur in Cleveland, Ohio. Weather will be cold in the postseason too. I wonder if they will stay home then too?karen lotz;755926 wrote:Yeah but the weather is horrible in Cleveland! KR1245Its going to take a little while for the fanbase to come back. If the Indians continue to play at their current level the fans will return.
I'm not going to get into the "best fanbase" argument. I could care less. Cleveland fans do deserve some credit though. If I were a Cincy fan I might spend a little more attention to my teams starting pitching and the St Louis Cardinals than I would the attendance of the Indians. -
jordo212000
You act like I am the only person talking about it.Its going to take a little while for the fanbase to come back. If the Indians continue to play at their current level the fans will return.
Let it go. You might want to worry about the Reds pitching and the Cardinals rather than the Indians attendance
People are going to bring it up. How is the team with the best record in baseball doing so poorly at drawing? The stadium is beautiful, players are good, and the weather has been better than it was at the start of the season -

I know you're not. I think everybody needs to let it go. Who gives a damn. Every fanbase has frontrunners/fair weather fans. There are obviously some exceptions, the Browns are one of them. -

Great job. You were giving backhanded compliments in order to save face during your trolling. Your case for yourself sounds convincing, only because you only showed your half of it. lol nice fail. Not saying that at all. And yes, they have been a better organization than the Reds over the past decade. No question there. My point remains the same. 7,000 people in attendance DURING THE FIRST WEEK of the season is a joke and it is embarrassing.
The Catch-22 just boggles my mind though. You want the team to spend money but in turn you aren't willing to spend money yourselves. The Dolans don't seem to trust the fanbase. Sure they could go spend $90 million, but what if they screw it up like the Orioles always used to and suck. 7,000 fans attending games will put you in the bankruptcy court quickly.jordo212000;732042 wrote:Say what you will about their attendance, they never ever had fewer than 10,000 people at the stadium during the first week of the season. If fans aren't going now, how many will be there in July and August?
They aren't making the playoffs, but their offense should put up some runs. Fanbases who only want to show up when their teams are World Series contenders make me laugh. I love watching Choo and Santana hit.jordo212000;732703 wrote:For what it is worth, Common Man was talking about the Indians attendance woes today on 97.1 the Fan. So there you have it, it just isn't me talking about this kind of stuff. If you don't believe me, search Indians+attendance on Google News. There are several articles that come up. I guess that everybody in the media are being trolls as well, right?
These are all the troll posts in that particular thread, there were other posts in the earlier threads discussing attendance as well. You also seem to forget to mention the part where everyone was telling you to GTFO. Don't be a delusional moron, you know damn well what you were doing, and you are doing it now, passive aggressive trolling (cue the piece of shit auto with his "witty" comment since he clearly doesn't care what I have to say lolfail). Still find it funny you were only trolling when the Tribe started the year off, as I expect (just like most of us) you thought the tribe would be shitty. Haven't seen you post since their hot start. I wonder why..... I am sure if the tribe starts going through some rough patches, you will be sure to chime in with your typical bullshit.
This is all just one sport. I am not even going to mention your idiocy when it comes to trolling the Cavs, or Browns. Unlike you I will stick to the sport we are discussing and not bring up other sports to make my argument sound better, because I am getting pwned in the original argument. Must be a Marietta thing. -

Same advice I gave to lotz, if you don't have room to talk shit, don't talk shit. How are the pirates doing? I am sure you haven't been paying attention. Pittsburgh fans only root for their good teams. Especially piece of shit fans who live in or are from Ohio. -

2 games under .500 and ahead of Cleveland in average attendance.
Its not talking shit....its pointing out the obvious. I constantly hear that Cleveland has the best fans.....well do they?
Best record in baseball and dead last in attendance....even you can admit that is pretty sad. -

lol that would be like me bragging about the Browns finishing higher in the division than the Bengals. That's cute you had to edit your post to add more gems though. When the Tribe made the playoffs in 2007, the attendance was not that great either. These all played factors into it:
-Economy (cle is one of the poorest cities currently)
-Piece of shit owner (no one respects him)
Fact of the matter is there are 81 home games for MLB teams, I don't like the fact that attendance is that poor, but can understand it. For Cleveland's other teams Cavs (41 home games), and the Browns (8 home games), those games are sold out. Those same fans are tribe fans. In a poorer city you are going to have to pick and choose your recreation. Until Dolan garners any respect, it will be the same.
Also the funny thing is everyone here is twisting what Cleveland fans said. We all said the Browns have the best fan base, then you guys had to twist it and say we stated Cleveland fans in general are the best. Typical tactic to make your argument look better. I guess it's my fault for falling for that bullshit.
But I will go back to my original comment, if you don't have room to talk shit, then dont talk shit.
-Have the pirates sold out 455 consecutive games? Even when they were good? Oh, no? then stfu.
-When the penguins were shitty as hell before Crosby, was the team about to move because no one in pittsburgh cares about shitty teams? Oh, yes? Then stfu.
Fact of the matter is pittsburgh fans only talk about pay attention to their good teams. When the tables turn and the steelers have their down years, I guarantee they will be getting the same treatment as the Pirates. -
AutomatikOK so just the Browns have the best fanbase? Got it.
And I really don't give a shit about how many games Cleveland has sold out in a row. I can pull a stat out to "make my argument look better" too.
World Series titles: Pittsburgh 5. Cleveland 2.
Oh yes? stfu
lol you fucking tool.
