Lemieux was better IMO, as I mentioned before, he had it all.......speed, size, strength and ridiculous skills. I'll wait for another response as to why I'm wrong.

I don't understand why you can't have an opinion on something, especially when it would not be out of the realm of possibility.

You can have an opinion on something (obviously) but to use those opinions as facts to support your argument is a fallacy.

There's already been like 20 responses to why you're wrong lol why should we go on and bury you even more?

When did I say it was fact.......please show me! I'm sick of this bullshit, you guys accuse me of back tracking when all the while you make shit up or distort what I posted. It's my opinion and frankly, I don't give a damn what you or these other haters think!

Yeah and that is you. You're argument has IFs, while the others bring facts. Yet you act like others are crazy when they disagree with you.

    Time to move on.

What's crazy is your logic! I did give a fact, the amount of games Lemieux missed not counting his retirement years.

Dude, did you hit a reset button in your head? No one is going to start the entire argument over again and throw out the numbers of how much Gretzky dominated him by. You're biased and it's obvious.

LMFAO.....Gretzky dominated Lemieux? Laughable! You don't like my opinion, don't read it or better yet, go away.

Wow....big fucking deal. How do you know he would have produced at said rate IF he could have played in those games? YOU DON'T KNOW.

And neither do you or anyone else! That's why it's opinionated on both sides!

I'm done with this crap, have it all you want, Lemieux is the greatest hockey player I've ever seen play. That's what I think and if you don't like it, too fucking bad!

    Good day!

I'm not the one that said Lemiex is better or would have "shattered" Gretzky's records. The only way to measure their careers is stats and Lemieux fall short....by a lot.

    Hockey GOAT:

    Gretzky
    Lemieux

    End of story.

I guess objectively you could look at pts per game, that would equalize the sheer amount of game differential.

    Gretzky: 2857 pts/1487 games = 1.92 pts/game

    Lemiuex: 1723 pts/915 games = 1.88 pts/game

    Very close.

Lemieux averaged 2 points a game before he came back a second time to play with the Pens when they drafted Crosby. He was still great but he should have stayed retired.

Before the 2005-2006 season, Lemieux did have over a career PPG of over 2.

What was Gretzky at before his decline at the end of his career?

Laley23;619128 wrote:What was Gretzky at before his decline at the end of his career?

In his last 5 years in the league he tallied over 399 points in 362 games for a PPG of 1.1

Lemieux tallied 299 points 170 games for a PPG of 1.75

For both of their careers before their last 5 seasons.

Gretzky: 2,458 points in 1,125 games. PPG is a 2.18

Lemieux: 1,494 points in 745 game. PPG is a 2.0

If we add in an additional 3 years to make it 15. (Lemiex retired the first time only playing 12 seasons)

Lemieux had 1,692 points in 879 games. PPG is a 1.924.

What we also have to look at is that Gretzky played nearly 2x more than Lemieux.

    Gretky played: 1,487

    Lemieux played: 915
