Week 15: New York Jets (9-4) at Pittsburgh Steelers (10-3)

Why isn't any Steeler fan talking about the opening kickoff? You going to blame the Refs on that also?

This thread is making me ashamed to be a Steelers fan. Absolutely pitiful

I see, it's OK to throw out personal information? If so there a lot to be desired on here!

BTW, if your so ashamed, go root for another team, we don't need you!

Actually you're too easy....too easy to figure out. You're here to be a douche and stir the pot.....like we haven't seen it before. I tried to get some reasonable discussion out of you, but you were incapable of that.

It's slightly worse than the rest of the officiating which isn't saying much at all.

I will say this. While it's not an NFL conspiracy, I would not be surprised to see Steelers get the wrong side of the benefit of doubt of close physical calls because of how big of a stink the Steelers made out of it. They kind of made their own bed by mouthing off about the league instead of shutting up and now have to lie in it. That doesn't imply a conspiracy, but I don't think it's farfetched to see negative effects of running your mouth, ya know?

There were some terrible calls at the end, but that's not why the Steelers lost. The Steelers lost because the Jets did what they had to do and they didn't. Steelers had 2 shots to get 10 yards for the win and couldn't convert, and bad calls had nothing to do with that.

That's because the H to H rule is so fucking gray it's not funny, it's BS to begin with.

What personal information was thrown out? That you got fired from writing for a paper? Even if it's true, the name of the paper wasn't disclosed, so someone like me isn't any closer to finding out "personal information" than the next guy.

Yes, referencing an unnamed newspaper and someone with a screen name is EXTREMELY personal.

Do you honestly think the "everyone gets bad calls" thinking applies here? This has been one of the worst years for officiating I can remember, and not just for Pittsburgh games....across the league. Its downright laughable.

Yes, the everyone gets bad calls applies here.

I don't watch every Pittsburgh game, but I saw plenty of questionable calls go both ways today. There was obviously a hold on the receiver on the last drive which wasn't called... but at the same time Steeler fans on here (Not all of them, but plenty) are actively looking for every bad call they can find. People tend to see what they want to. I personally understand that officials don't get every call right, so I don't scour Browns games trying to point out every borderline call and potential mistake (whether it actually was the correct call or not). If I wanted too I'm sure I could find 10 or 15 to bitch about every week too.

For example, the fact that a borderline call (that was the RIGHT call even though I hate the fucking rule, Clark launched himself and led with the helmet) went against the Steelers and another borderline call didn't go for the Steelers doesn't mean that Pittsburgh was getting the short end of the stick all game. Guess what? Both offensive and defensive players hold and grab and push on every single play. It doesn't mean the refs are screwing anybody over. It just happens. When you are a more physical team that prides yourself on hitting opposing teams hard, which Pittsburgh is, you are going to get more personal foul penalties under the current rules. It isn't bullshit, it's the rules. Time to adjust to them.

If the refs were really against Pittsburgh they wouldn't have 10 wins.

Also, I'm starting to prefer the college replay system over the NFL. I agree that there has been a lot of shoddy refereeing over the course of the season, and I think it might be time for the booth to review every play on it's own rather than forcing the coaches to save up their 2 challenges and have to worry about whether they'll need it more later on. If the wrong call is made it SHOULD be overturned.

People take the high road a lot of times because they don't want to be "guy complaining about the calls." I understand that. It's a better world when things all even out and you can just shake hands and say good game.

But sometimes you have to balance that with what your eyes actually see.

It's total bs if you're a Steelers fan and you don't think the Jets got some help at the end. The Revis play was borderline but still hands in the back. Would that be called if it was the Steelers? Well they had a borderline helmet hit and it got called and helped the Jets score a TD. The holding on Lowery that wasn't called may have been a touchdown and game winner.

The officiating impacts the game as much as a lot of things. Offense, defense, special teams, weather conditions, etc.

The officiating was as much a reason why the Steelers lost this game as anything.

Ok that answers my questions....continue on being a tool.
The officiating in their games is not perfect, but its not THAT bad. Officials are humans, they make errors, its not like theres been ONE officiating crew that has had the Steelers the entire season and are out to get them. The same officials that "screw pittsburgh over" probably make the same type of calls against other teams in other games

No Polamalu = no turnovers...it's unbelievable the numbers when he's in there vs when he is not.

No conspiracies....but mos NFL refs seem to be sucking a good bit......borderline calls are overwhelmingly going against the Steelers.

    I also hate Roger Goodell.

How do you miss the holding at the end of the game???

    Did Lamar Woodley play?

Most everything went against the Steelers and they still should've won....oh well

HOW DOES THE STEELERS SPECIAL TEAMS COACH STILL HAVE A JOB?????????????????

What was the average field position for each team? Jets 40 yard line....Steelers 20?

    Absurd.
