You shouldn't have to belong to a nice club to practice proper etiquette, especially in a sport such as golf.ernest_t_bass wrote: I guess my argument is this. Most people on this site don't attend the higher up golf courses. It's like if I were a member to a $10,000 per year health club, where there is proper $10,000 per year etiquette, and I complain about it to the $100 a year health club members.
If you don't know the etiquette then please, stay at your courses that charge $20 for a round and have greens harder than concrete. -

it doesn't have to be a higher up golf club.. if you're at a range where you hit off of grass and they rotate tee boxes to repair the ground, you need to follow etiquette... whether its a country club or a muni course.ernest_t_bass wrote: I guess my argument is this. Does this mean that you get angry when I leave my empty beer cans on the greens?ZWICK 4 PREZ wrote:

No, I just consider the source in this instances.. It'd be like getting mad at a woman for being indecisive. -
FunFun7Follow proper etiquette...keeps blacks off the course. Isnt that how the game was originally played?

No, “this” is correct. There’s an inadvertent “s” on the end of instance. -

Either way, you were wrong. My original question still stands.ZWICK 4 PREZ wrote:Society wrote:

Actually either way it was a mistake. You should know all about mistakes. That's what your parents refer to you as.Society wrote:

Hardly minuscule. Proper etiquette is not suggested, but required at courses. It's only minuscule if you have no regard for others.UANyg wrote: zwick is bitching about some minuscule golf-related topic, i'm shocked... -

If it was required, then we wouldn't be having this conversation. Now would we?ZWICK 4 PREZ wrote:

Every course has a sign telling you to follow proper golf etiquette.
We're having this conversation b/c people are ignorant to proper etiquette. -

lhslep134I don't think a lot of people know that about taking divots at ranges, that's why they don't do it.
I belong to a country club back home in Youngstown, and I can tell you that even though the people that are members there are pretty wealthy and know etiquette, they don't know how to properly divots on the range, the only person I've seen take them properly are the club pros and my friends dad who has been club champion something like 13 times. -

THIS explains what I was trying to say. You're not as stupid as I am, so you did it better. NO ONE knows that damn etiquette rule, so complaining about it is stupid.lhslep134 wrote: I don't think a lot of people know that about taking divots at ranges, that's why they don't do it.

But yeah, it's definitely not something to complain about, no offense Zwick, just because it's something that people don't even know.
Hell, if I didn't bug the hell outta the club pros everytime I saw them on the range the same time as me, I never would have known that you're supposed to put the ball right behind the divot.
Another thing is, people assume that they HAVE to hit off a fresh piece of grass with no divots around in order to maximize their range session, oh well.
Like I said, nothing to be too upset about, even when I'm in a spot where other people have been I can't remember the last time they absolutely wasn't any clean spots to use. -

Even Rome fell, beware the Ides of March.ZWICK 4 PREZ wrote:ernest_t_bass wrote: Honestly, you pompous f*cking prick, if I ever see you at a driving range, I will do this on purpose. Then I will go to where you're hitting and do it there too. And then maybe drop a deuce.
Oh, and I can't forget... go play 18 holes in a golf cart
There's a proper etiquette, and when in Rome, you do as the Romans.
If that's a problem for you, stay the fuck outta Rome. -
Glory DaysHmmmm and any good golfer doesnt call it a driving range, its a practice range.

That's proper etiquette.
