Green Beer or Irish Beer?
-
SnotBubblesWhat's on the menu for tonight....a green beer (usually food coloring and bud light) or an authentic Irish (flavored) beer...like Killians, Guinness, Murphy's...etc?
-
THE4RINGZI'll stop in somewhere today for a couple of green beers, just for the sake of St. Patrick's Day. Then tonight at home I will enjo some Gunniess Stout.
FYI...Killien's is made by Coor's in Colorado. -
SonofanumpI can not drink Guinness, I'll take Harp.

I know (it's one of my favorite beers), and I knew someone would point that out ...that's why I said "flavored!" So I covered myself RINGZ! Get up out my grill!THE4RINGZ wrote: FYI...Killien's is made by Coor's in Colorado. -
THE4RINGZAlright already. Killian's is an Irish flavored beer.
However, it doesn't hold a candle to Guinness. -
SnotBubblesI tried Guinness when I was roughly 22. Reminded me of drinking coffee grounds and cough syrup. Haven't tried it since...but I do know my taste buds have matured....so maybe I'll give it a shot tonight again....just because of your recommendation.

THE4RINGZI think you either love it or hate it not sure there is any middle ground on the Nectar of the Irish gods.
I know I am going to use it in the mashed potatoe portion of my Irish Shepard's Pie I am making for dinner. Gives a good flavor. -
cat_loverReal Irish don't drink green beer. Killian's and Guinness and some Jameson will do the trick.
-
THE4RINGZAnyone like Smithwick's?
-
se-alumI will be celebrating the IRA w/ some Irish Car Bombs.....

-
BigAppleBuckeyeGuinness rocks, but its like eating a meal, and it has a low alcohol content ... but I always have at least one. I prefer Harp, great stuff right there.

4cards...Green Beer = Amateur drinkers on St. Patricks Day
Real Irish drinkers on St. Patricks Day = Black & Tan's

Hell. Yes.THE4RINGZ wrote: Anyone like Smithwick's? -
KnightXC1Usually have one Irish beer and a green beer for good measure. Then have to have my Irish Car Bomb as it wouldn't be St. Patty's Day without one.
-
THE4RINGZI am a real Irish drinker, I can assure you of that. However, I don't drink Irish Car Bombs (I find the name of the drink slanderous) and refuse to drink a Black and Tan simply because of the other meaning of the term Black and Tan in Northern Ireland.
But to each their own on this glorious day. -
thavoiceNeither. Gave up drinking for lent.

Lent consist of 40 days of which Sunday is excluded from those. The bishops have also given exceptions in the past for St. Patrick's day falling on Friday allowing beef on those days. Maybe they would allow for drinking on such a feast day?thavoice wrote: Neither. Gave up drinking for lent. -
Fab1bNeither will be at the office till 11pm tonight, but something else green perhaps after work!
