The 360 vs The PS3
-
MANAZEWhat system do you think is better?
I own both. Right now my 360 is being repaired and it is my 6-7th time of RROD.
My PS3 might be heavy like a brick but it'll last just as long as a real brick. The free online play also is a plus. The only thing going for the 360 imo is the Halo series. I've started to buy all my games now on the PS3. For me the 360 is starting to die. It'll pick up again when Halo Reach comes out but we'll see how long that lasts. -
HereticI own a 360. I don't own a PS3. Therefore the 360 is better because I would never own an inferior product.
Well.....there was the time when I got an Atari 7800 instead of a Nintendo.....but that was a long time ago when I was a lot younger, so I'm calling that a total fluke. -
NateI have both. I haven't turned my PS3 on in about 2 months.

McFly1955I own all 3 next gen systems and have been an avid gamer all 23 years of my life.
I rank them 360 >> PS3 >>>> WII
360--- Awesome system, fantastic online service (but at a price), great games both exclusive and non exclusive, better controller in my opinion, priced better in the past, although the margin is small now, Xbox Live Arcade is better than PSN in my opinion. The cons: limited storage, no blu ray, people complain of hardware issues, although this is overblown at this point and is no longer a major concern with newer systems (plus the warranty took care of it for years), need adapter for wireless..
PS3--- Awesome system, Blu Ray player is fantastic, exclusive games are catching up to 360, but I still give the slight edge to the 360 (very slight edge), great storage space, wifi, blu tooth. Cons -- a little more expensive, user interface not as good as 360 in my opinion, online service is quite crappy in my opinion as far as setting up matches and ease of use, but it's free so there ya go.
Wii--- Fun for a while, not a lot of games, terrible online service, a novelty that wore off to me....
Overall I would say the 360 and PS3 are almost tied, but the edge goes to the 360 as far as GAMING SYSTEMS. Disregard the fact that Sony has Blu Ray, if you want the system for playing games, more specifically playing games online, I recommend the 360 over the PS3. As an overall home entertainment system for the casual consumer, the PS3 may be the better option due to the free online service and blu ray player....Personally, my actual gaming time would be split probably 90% 360 and 10% PS3. I buy all multi-platform games on the 360 because of the superior online service and in general 360 games have better framerate and overall playability on the 360 in comparison to the PS3. I buy roughly 1-2 games per month, have owned dozens and dozens of games on the 360 (I sell some off on ebay when I'm permanently done with them) but have kept 15-20 360 games....I have owned roughly 7-8 games on the PS3 and have kept about 4....
I use my PS3 for the awesome exclusives that have come out and are coming in the future (MGS. Killzone, Uncharted 1 & 2, God of War 3, etc.). I use the PS3 for probably 2 blu rays a week as well, so the system does definitely get good use overall. -

wizecrackerPersonally I prefer 360 but ps3 is fun at times.

justincrediblePS3.
-
KnightXC1PS3 for me.
-
captvernPS3 for me
-
capninsanoI'm an Xbox fanboy. I don't have any problems with the PS3 though. In fact, I may end up buying one to use as my media center...if a program ever comes out that can stream bluray iso's stored on media server.
-
dm27PS3 for me too. My brother has a 360 and I did not want to go through the hassle he did when it kept breaking down. If I make a $300-400 investment I want it to work and the failure rate among PS3s was extremely small, so that was a big part of my decision. Also exclusives don't mean a whole lot to me and PSN is sufficient enough for the amount of online gaming I do.

tcarrier32i have both and surprisingly enough, ive had to send my playstation in for repair twice. so far i havent had any problems with my xbox. but i still prefer the ps3.
-
wes_mantoothThe main difference that I have seen is that the Xbox360 plays xbox360 games and the PS3 plays Playstation 3 games.
-
j_crazythe exclusives for 360 > exclusives for PS3, everything else is better on PS3 though.
-
hangonsloopyPS3 all the way
-
hoops23I have both.
I'm on my 4th 360, but it's currently getting most of my playing time (COD MW2 & L4D2). Right before COD came out, my PS3 was getting a majority of my playing time with Uncharted 2. It goes in cycles with me based on games currently out.
Overall, I'd take the PS3. Blu-ray, the full media center functionality, the hardware and software, and I still prefer the controller over the 360's. -

Xbox live seals the deal. Online play is much better than ps3. -
Tim TebowJesus has a PS3.
-
jpake1I don't have either, but I would buy the PS3 first. I've known too many people that have had too many problems with a 360. If I'm going to spend that kind of money, I want the most reliable product.

Thats because he can't compete on X-Box Live.Tim Tebow wrote: Jesus has a PS3. -
MANAZEThe PS3 at 299 is cheaper than an xbox at 199. Ya it might be an extra 100 dollars up front but as soon as you go to play online 60 dollars a year. than if you want to use wi-fi its another 100 bucks down the drain. so right there you got 299 against 359.
-
BuckeyeBlueI'll throw my hat in the ring for the PS3(even though I mistakenly voted for the 360). I love being able to watch Blu-Rays, the gameplay is very comparable between the two systems, and I the free online/Wi-Fi is amazing. Of the two I just feel like the PS3 is the better all around system.
-
George CostanzaI have the 360 and Wii, have wanted a PS3 for a long time.
-
fish82I still enjoy playing with my Wii. I usually do it a couple times per day.
-
imex99PS3, I play on the 360 weekly and it's a really good system...Just never got into Halo.
