The 360 vs The PS3

  • Benito
    360. Don't play video games anymore but when i did we played a lot of halo. After you play a lot of xbox the playsation controller just feels way too small and awkward. I've never liked playstations simply because of that.

I love being able to watch Blu-Rays, the gameplay is very comparable between the two systems, and I the free online/Wi-Fi is amazing. Of the two I just feel like the PS3 is the better all around system.
    I mistakenly voted for ps3 so I guess we fixed each other's mistake.

    I hate when people say PS3's online is garbage compared to Live...

    No, it's not.

    Once you get into a game of COD, you're not able to tell ANY difference. Live has the better ability of the two to send game invites, but other than that, it's pretty even imo..

    I still like both, but I just feel that out of the box, the PS3 can't be beat right now.

    +1

    It's really not that much better anymore....It's stabile, messaging, Netflix, game invites and cross game chat is coming soon: http://www.n4g.com/ps3/News-429628.aspx

    To all those who say the 360 is superior online play...what are you basing that on? I have both and while the 360 match making is better in some games I do no notice a difference in fluidity online. And since I do not pay to use my PS3 online I give the plus to that. So its a wash really anyone who says one is superior to the other in online play has never dealt with the other one. If you have a high def TV and surround sound, go with the PS3 and buy blu ray movies. If you are just a gamer than go with the 360.

    Always roll with Americans. 360.

    vote for PS 3 here. Xbox broke less than a year after I had it and I did not play for longer than an hour at a time. Traded all my x box gear into gamestop to get the PS3. No problems at all + blu ray for movies.

    For all the people who say their XBox 360 breaks all the time...HOW??? Ive had a 360 elite since it came out and NO PROBLEMS at all. If you keep it off the floor and with a little bit of open space around it you will not have problems. The same as with any electronic device.

    I really can't add anything here that hasn't been said. I have a PS3 and I love it. I have friends who have 360s and they love them. When they play my PS3 they like it. When I play their 360 I like it. It's hard to go wrong if you just want to play video games, both systems get it done with the slight edge to 360 in overall gaming performance. Throw in all that the Playstation does extra and I give the overall edge to PS3.

    Both systems have advantages.

    PS3
    -----
    Blu-ray
    Bluetooth
    Can use Linux on it

    XBOX
    -----
    Better online experience overall, not just game play online.
    Better marketplace
    Less System Updates
    Media Center
    Netflix Interface

    I've had 2 different 360's and neither have had an RROD's. I traded my first one in fear that it would but I had it for almost 3 years before I traded it.

    It's quite simple. Microsoft made the 360 faulty. There is NO denying that and even they have admitted it, especially by trying to insert new hardware and offering a 3 year extended warranty out of the box.

    I take GREAT care of my consoles. However, with a 30% failure rate on 360's, chances of you getting a bad one are pretty high. I don't think it's that high now, but the fact that it was is a shame.

    I'm on my 4th one, I've had 3 fail on me. My girlfriend is on her 2nd and I have two friends who are both on their 3rd....

    I have a stand that is just for my PS3 and 360, so that wasn't the issue...

    There is no argument that can be made for the 360 as far as which is the better system. Absolutely none at all. Not saying the 360 isn't a good system, I love the 360 but the PS3 is the easy choice here. This is an easier question to answer than 2+2.

    Perfect video for this thread. Cnet takes the 360 Elite and puts it up against the PS3 Slim.

    360 here, and as far as the RROD problem, I would buy a warranty at best buy and just before the 2 yrs were up I would bring it in and say I had RROD, just did it a month ago I got a new 360 and the $100 store credit for the difference between the current price and the price I originally paid

    I roll with a 360 simply because I find that it has more games that I like and it's online is better (even though it is like $4 a month, which is why I can't afford JJ). I also like the media center extender features and things like the netflix integration. Also, up until about the middle of this year multi-platform games performed significantly better on the 360 in most cases, although now most of them are about the same on both which is nice.

    No, it's really not. You're bias because you "roll with 360". Like I said, I love 360, but PS3 is a much better system.

    I've owned both since both were practically released. I've never got into my PS3 as I have my 360. I don't nearly play as much as I use to due to the baby and all. I will say, my 360 sounds like a 747 but my ps3 actually will sound like one also if I don't have my entertainment stand opened all the time. Blu-ray is amazing and if 360 had Blu-Ray we wouldn't have this conversation. Media wise they are neck and neck. Netflix is available for PS3 now I believe. Both have/going to have Twitter and Facebook features. Both have movie rentals, tv show rentals, etc.. Yes, 360 is pay for online play but I find more of my friends on 360 and love the Xbox Live overall experience. Bluetooth is a huge advantage for PS3.

    Things both systems should look into that would be a HUGE sell. Hard drive migration utility. I want to get an Elite 360 soon but I dread trying to get 11GB's worth of data downloaded onto the new drive PLUS it's a pain because they are associated with my gamertag and you have to worry about licensing crap. If there was a utility to store the data temporarily on a PC hard drive and transfer to the new drive, it would be absolutely amazing and I would have an Elite 360 in my living room instead.

    Same thing happened to me..Best day of my life!!! IMO Live is better because of the competition. Better gamers play on the 360 and i dont see how anyone could deny it.

    PS3 FW 3.15: Just some small fixes but look at "Lan Data Transfer utility"

    * Bluetooth sync issues fixed
    * Trophy syncing issue resolved
    * PSP Minis now playable on the PS3 (starting December 17th all PSP minis will be playable on the PS3, for now you must go to your download list and re-download any previously purchased PSP minis for them to function on the PS3)
    * XBM Icon Added – Minis Save Data Icon
    * LAN Data Transfer Utility

    1. Turn both the current PS3 (A) and new PS3 (B) on and connect them with a LAN cable; PS3 (A) should be connected to the TV. Please note, firmware (v3.15) must be installed on both systems.
    2. On the XMB of PS3 (A), scroll to the Settings category and select [System Settings] and then [Data Transfer Utility]
    3. Follow the instructions on-screen and transfer data
    4. After transferring the data, follow the instructions on-screen, and then connect PS3 (B) to the TV to view the XMB
    5. If content that was downloaded from PlayStation Store was transferred as part of this operation, you must activate PS3 (B) before you can use the data. Log in to the PS3 system as the user who owns the content, and then select (PlayStation Network) > (Account Management) > (System Activation) to activate the system.
