Will You Keep Watching Hockey????

  • gorocks99
Probably a 1080i vs 720p/1080p thing, plus refresh rate of a tv. The higher the refresh rate, the more this effect will be reduced.

I dont know what the means but i guess its possible.

HEre is the wierd thing...those of us who actually watch hockey noticed it right away. Those who were watching for the first time ever, or in years...said they didnt notice a thing.

    Refresh rate:

    http://www.hdtvetc.com/education/explaining-an-hdtvs-refresh-rate.php

Basically means that the TV will refresh the screen more times per minute, meaning less blur during fast-moving scenes.

    ahh I get it.

It seemed to get better as the game went on..or we noticed it less. Damned near turned on, and we actually did for a bit, the normal feed instead.
  • I drain 3's
I'll watch the Penguins in the playoffs some.

Watch playoff hockey every year. I like Colorado, so unless they reach the post season I don't get to see many of their games, although I try to watch occasionally on the internet.

Versus regular season coverage sucks. They don't have games every night, when they do air a game the 2 teams damn near always consist of Detroit, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Philly, Washington, or NYR. Outside of opening night or playoffs they rarely, if ever air double headers. ESPN used to have two games a night at least once a week when they had the NHL's tv contract. When VS does broadcast a west coast game it's typically San Jose v Dallas. I'm glad I get VS so I can watch the playoffs, but they're really missing the bar in their regular season coverage. Gary Bettman is the worst commissioner of any professional sports league, but you already knew that. I love his latest (mis)handling regarding NHL players elegibilty to participate at the 2014 Winter Olympics being up in the air. Nice PR move.

Nope, won't watch another hockey game for 4 years.

Colorado hosts Detroit tonight on Versus......I'm glad the 'lanche are back in the playoff race. Hopefully they and Detroit can renew the fierceness of that rivalry now that they're both fighting for a playoff spot.

    Yes, but I always have.

Nope. I wasn't able to watch it during the Olympics I doubt I'll have time to watch it during the playoffs.

    GO BJ's!!!

A combination of two of your options. Yes, I WILL watch the playoffs.

Duchene & O'Reilly have had nice rookie seasons, contributing largely to the Avs surprising success this year. They've also been fortunate to remain relatively healthy *knock on wood*, while the aquisition of goalie Craig Anderson in free agency has worked out well. Thus far this season has exceeded mine and many other Colorado fans expectations given the retirement of Joe Sakic, as well as how well/soon this young team would gel.

Probably not, although that game yesterday was awesome.

My problem is that I don't even know where the versus channel is on directv.....they need a better tv deal.

Was a big Avalanche/Nordiques fan back in the day, and like a lot of people my fandom really took a shot during the lost strike season. I've started coming back around again after taking my wife to a Bluejackets/Flames game early this season. She's now hooked and she wants to go to the Pens/Caps game in early April.

Ah, the magic of LIVE hockey!

Hockey playoffs are awesome as shit to watch... I love how they don't do the handshake until after the series is over

I love how they *do* a handshake when the series is over, unlike other pro sports.

I goto atleast one Pens game a year and watch the playoffs. the regular season games arent on tv enough to watch those.

I am an Oilers fan by the way.

I mean after every series. With the NFL & NBA you get a few guys who are buds that'll fist pound etc, but there's no lining up and actually shaking hands.

It's CH.603 but Comcast and DirecTv need to workout a deal so that VS can come back on.

I want to say yes. I'll give it a shot through the playoffs. I think the Olympics could have possibly changed my opinion on the sport, which would be cool. I'm always looking for more sports to get into.

Upper...do you ever get to go to any games? Dont know where your from by there are tons of minor league games @ cheap prices that you can see and have a blast at..and learn the game.

Of all the sports.......id rather watch hockey live and the rest from home.
Over the last so many years I have taken prolly a dozen or some people who had never been to a hockey game before...and pretty much all of them have since gone to multiple and started followin the sport.

I'm fortunate to live 30 min from cheap, live hockey. Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL, hopefully they can stay in Wheeling as there's talk of a possible move. What other minor league teams do we have in the Ohio areas???
