Will You Keep Watching Hockey????
-
Strapping Young LadHas the Silver Medal performance of the USA , peaked your interest in hockey, beyond the Olympics????
-
gorocks99Always have watched, now I'm just super pumped for the playoffs to start. Even though the Jackets won't be in it, I can't wait to see the Sharks choke in the first round again, see Ovi-Cindy part deux, etc.
-
thavoiceQuite honest...ive been watching for years.
Will it bring a huge swing in hockey viewers? Doubt it. They mostly are on VS...lots of people dont get that channel...or on sunday afternoon on NBC.
It was def exciting..and i watched soooooo much olympic hockey this past 10 days. Been amazing.
People dotn realize this...US hockey is on the rise.....champs in U17, U18 and U20 I believe along with silver medal in olympics. -
MulvaI didn't even watch the gold medal game. I used to like hockey, but I haven't gotten back into it since the NHL strike.
-
vball10setto be honest,I'll watch the finals, and maybe a playoff game or two
-
LJHockey on TV is terrible. I only watched the OT if the Gold Medal Game.
-
OneBuckeyeI watch olympics, some playoffs and finals. Will not watch more hockey unless the bluejackets are doing something amazing. I attend one bluejackets game a year, IMO hockey is one of the sports that is not better on TV than in person.
-
queencitybuckeyeBeen a fan since the great Bruins teams of the early 70s.
-
gorocks99Assuming you're still a B's fan, it must be a tough existence. The ownership could really care less about winning, first-seed last year notwithstanding.
-
se-alumThe next hockey game I watch will likely be in 4 years.

Ya should check it out again. Game is better now I think...more flow. They actually started to call more of what was in teh books for interferance and holding and such. Was a tough go for a season afterwards as alot of penalties it seeems...but the game seems more fluid than before the strike.Mulva wrote: I didn't even watch the gold medal game. IN person is best...of course...TV it isnt the greatest but its not bad. -
j_crazyhockey is fun, but i've never been able to get into it much on TV. it would help if ESPN still carried it since I'm not sure what if any channels I get have it now.
-
HereticI likely won't watch much regular season hockey, but I'll be glued to my TV during the playoffs, as I am more years than not. Playoff hockey is as awesome as anything in the world of sports as far as drama and tension goes.
-
End of LineUhm yeah. I still don't have VS (fuck you comcast)
-
gorocks99Comcast doesn't give you VS? I get it on my Comcast.
-
Strapping Young LadI had to pay extra to get a package w/ VS included. That was before the '08 playoffs. You could just order it for two months and cancel. Thats' prob what I should do to save money......
I'd love to hear Gary Thorne and Bill Clement call a playoff hockey game again. EA Sports got it so right, having those two be commentators on NHL10..... -

I have DirecTv, that's why I hate Comcast.gorocks99 wrote: Comcast doesn't give you VS? I get it on my Comcast. -
SonofanumpI used to watch it when our cable had CBC-9 out of Windsor. Now not so much. Great game to watch in person.

They need Gary and Bill back (although Emrick is growing on me), and they need this music back too:

I know my normal time warner pkgs doesnt have it. Upgrading to digital , for me, really isnt a realistic option. -

Now if we can get them to put the Nat'l Hockey Night theme song on the game it'll be perfect. Who remembers what I'm talking about?!??!?!?Strapping Young Lad wrote: I had to pay extra to get a package w/ VS included. That was before the '08 playoffs. KnightXC1I have always watched and will continue to. Hockey is one of the best sports to watch in HD as it just looks amazing.
-
thavoice^^^speaking of HD>....yeasterday was the first time I really got to watch it in HD. I watch a good amount of hockey in regular tv.
It seemes like the when the skaters went fast, or the puck was moving at a good rate of speed...it seemed to "bounce" or wobbly or whatever. It took quite awhile to get used to it.
is that normal? Ive noticed that kind before at bars on HD..sometimes the faster moving objects seem oh i dont know..different.
