PSN Network down/messed up
-
ohiotiger33An error has occurred. You have been signed out of Playstation Network.
(8001050F)
This is what a lot of people (including me) are seeing right now. There is some corruption causing a lot of shit to go wrong in the network.
This is my first major issue with my PS3 in three years; hopefully they figure it out soon.

wes_mantoothBuy a Mac.
-
ohiotiger33Lol. I have had one for 4 years.
-
wes_mantoothAnyhow, how long has it been down? My kid was playing call of duty on there at around 8pm.
-
I Wear PantsI'd make a snarky remark about "this is why XBL is worth it" but it has had its fair share of outages too.
-
ohiotiger33^^ haha, i figured someone would. This one is very strange; it is some sort of error message, and it is showing no signs of ending.
-
hoops23Still having problems?
-
bases_loadedI just tried to play NBA 2k offline and it kept freezing...network still down...so much for playing before bed.
-
ohiotiger33Yeah, still having them. It is some issue in their leap year code. Here is a kicker, the date and time on my ps3 reset to 12/31 1999.
Apparently they are close to a fix though. -
ZWICK 4 PREZI get this when I try to play NCAA 10. Justin must run PSN too.
-
ohiotiger33So you are saying Justin is the Admin for the PSN Network?
Step up your game Justin. -
hoops23Been searching around and it seems as if the apocalypse has hit the fat models of the PS3..
Supposedly if you have a Slim model, you should be fine..
Anyway, there was a bug in the fat PS3 models that had a glitch today with the clock that set it to a random date, which doesn't allow you to play online or connect to the PSN. I guess the PS3 was fooled by a leap year issue and everything screwed up within the systems internal clock.
Sony is working on a patch to help this issue out.

ohiotiger33I have the fat one. So yep, I agree this is the issue.
-
hoops23lol, I just turned mine on to see what was going on and the date does indeed say 12/31/1999.. Hilarious.
-
ohiotiger33I changed it manually, but nothing happened.
It is Y2K for ps3 owners!!!! AHHHHH! -
hoops23haha, that's funny stuff.. I just said the same thing.. Y2K finally caught up to us.
-
imex99Slim ps3 here BIOTCHES, my ps3 and the PSN is up and running.... SUCKAS
-
TBone14I didn't even know it was a leap year. Isn't tomorrow March 1? I thought the leap year had 29 days in February. And this is exactly what is happening to me.
-
Free_is_betterGuess I won't be playing the ps3 tonight. Oh well good thing I have a 360 with xbl.
-
hoops23
Exactly. The PS3 is somehow mistaken this year as a leap year. Something to do with the internal clocks of the fat PS3...TBone14 wrote: I didn't even know it was a leap year. Isn't tomorrow March 1? I thought the leap year had 29 days in February. And this is exactly what is happening to me.
So, with that, it's totally thrown the system clock out of whack and the fat PS3's are reporting the date as 12/31/1999 -

The hell with you and your weight watchers PS3imex99 wrote: Slim ps3 here BIOTCHES, my ps3 and the PSN is up and running.... SUCKAS -
imex99I'm supposed to play a conference championship game but my opponent isn't showing.......(Tbone) haha, some lame excuse about not being able to sign in(I know he's just scared)

I am seeing that right now. My system clock says 12/31 at 8:03 PM. It is 12:05. So it about 11 years, 4 hours and 2 minutes behind.LTrain23 wrote:

lol, yeah it's kind of funny imo.. I have no ideal how it's messing up one model, but not the others (slims)TBone14 wrote:

Kind of weird. -
TBone14Well this is pissing me off. The Houston Cougars were all set to DESTROY Coach imex99 and his ECU Pirates in the CUSA Championship game tonight. We will have to re-ice the champagne, it looks as though the bottles won't be popped until tomorrow night.
