Pro Golf Tournament: Hecklers allowed???

  • hang_loose
This is based off the Tiger thread but would you go to a pro golf tournament where heckling was allowed? Would you participate? Would you watch it on T.V.???

    NO

No, that's stupid. The game is above that.

    "the game is above that"

I always thought it was funny when golfers bitch and moan about a flash during their backswing or something. Any other sport almost you have fans screaming noise all around ect...but they arent whiny little bitches about it.

    It would be terrible.

Golf is not other sports so the "other sports have cheering" argument doesn't work.

I want to stab everyone who says "Get in the hole".

It is, and if you don't agree, you don't belong on a course.

Golfers act like whiny little girls though with the noise.(espeeeeeeeecially tiger)

Lol imagine Kobe or Bron backing away from the line every time someone flashed a camera haha

Two different sports. Your average person can make 5/10 free throws... your average person can't hit a golf ball where they want to. Two completely different concentration levels.

    Golf is a pansy game.

Why can't people understand that what applies to one sport doesn't for another?

Geese, basketball players are such whiners, always play on indoor courts they should try playing outside like football. <<<---- This is poor logic.

I don't see people complaining about tennis spectators being expected to stay quiet during serves and play.

I as an avid golfer disagree with the common belief on this board. I think some people need to check out the 16th hole at the TPC of Scottsdale if you need convincing.

Yeah one time I had to stab a heckler with the sharp edge of a broken iron shaft that I snapped over my knee because I was infuriated they talked during my swing.

Okay that didn't really happen, but when playing against the cheaters I like to call the Hubbard Eagles my senior year, their coach went around following my group (the 2 best players) shouting needless shit right before we were about to start our backswing. While it wasn't during the swing, it was bullshit nonetheless and led to my playing partner completely losing his cool, not to mention my coach (who is from Hubbard) flipping a shit.

For anyone who thinks golfers are pansies because we don't like distractions, come out to Scarlet and I'll play you $1000 a hole and we'll see what's what. (Doesn't include you Zwick ;) ) and you can try and distract me all you want.

There are 2 sports where hecklers don't belong.... Golf and the Clay Pigeon Trio

your right, i forgot a professional golfer couldnt shoot the same score they do now if they wore cut off jean shorts and i wife beater.

and thats also the same attitude that kept certain races out of the club house.

They couldn't b/c they wouldn't wear cut off jean shorts and a wife beater on a course, b/c they have more respect for Golf and themselves to wear it.

It is pretty stupid. Weak minded if someone can't concentrate enough to hit a golf ball while someone is making noise. It's also, besides the cost, the reason I'll never set foot on a golf course. Too snooty for me.

Justin, I'd bet the average person (who golfs) could hit a golf ball where they want to 50% of the time or close to it. As long as it is in an average persons distance.

Actually Justin, I think you could do it too! Try it at a driving range with a buddy heckling you and I think you would hit that average.

Hitting a baseball at 90 mph is the hardest thing to do in sports. You don't see Pujols or A-Rod telling the crowd to be quiet. The fact that "Pro" golfers need quiet to hit a stationary ball off of a tee is pathetic.

I see there's a lot of pros here that just never decided to play.

There's no question that hitting a 90+ fastball is extremely tough, but you're just looking to make contact and hit it. Ur not trying to hit it on a 15 yard wide piece of grass around trees and over other hazards.
