"Dark Knight" sequel confirmed

AcesinCaliforniaUgh, I hope they don't go for the Rock as Mr. Freeze if he appears in this or subsequent films. Why do studios think Mr. Freeze is a freakishly pumped ham? Of course, the Rock is just rumored, but I hope they don't go that (erroneous) route again. In the comics, he is an ordinary-looking genius scientist with a little style. Patrick Stewart would be perfect both acting-wise and looks wise.
-
killer_ewokI wanna see Monica Bellucci as Talia Al-Ghul. I think she's perfect for the part.
-
NateI am officially stoked.
-
OneBuckeyeCount me in as one of those that likes the movie but thinks it was overrated due to the ledger factor and other things. There is a reason why it wasn't even nominated for best picture.
-
Thunder70I'd rather not see Depp as the Riddler. He's a great actor but it seems like every other movie that comes out has him in it. Id rather see some other, maybe not as well known but talented, actor get the part.
-
Fab4RunnerI wish they wouldn't even use the Riddler in this movie. I'd prefer they did something similar to Batman Begins and use lesser known villians from the comics rather than recycling those from past Batman movies. I know I'm in the minority but that's my opinion. I trust Christopher Nolan to make this amazing regardless.
I'm obviously extremely happy with this news. You could kind of call me obsessed with BB amd TDK. -
Fab4RunnerOh and some of the people on these lists are terrible actors. Jessica Alba??? Come on. I highly doubt Nolan would allow anyone that bad to be cast.

Ditto this. Depp is an outstanding actor, however he never really comes off as somebody I buy as being evil. He can be dark, but evil??? I don't think so. Plus recently every role he has taken/portrayed leads me to thinking his character might be gay or somethingThunder70 wrote: I'd rather not see Depp as the Riddler. KnightXC1^^ Joker was never that much of an evil character but a dark one. Depp plays the dark role very well (Sweeney Todd) and would be a good choice to play Riddler.
While I liked The Dark Knight, it wasn't the greatest movie ever like some people think it is. It probably would not have made nearly as much had Ledger not died. It was still good but it wasn't amazing (Outside of Ledger).
Nolan being on board for the new one is all I needed to see. He has done a great job with Batman Begins and Dark Knight and I'm sure the new one will be good as well. I know he said no Penguin or Catwomen will ever be in his movies nor will Robin (thank God). Plenty of other villians to go with. -

See my pick of Michael Emerson (from LOST). He would be great as the Riddler, or any villain really.Thunder70 wrote: I'd rather not see Depp as the Riddler. I wouldnt worry. I agree Nolan isnt dumb enough to find people who cant act.Fab4Runner wrote: Oh and some of the people on these lists are terrible actors. Jessica Alba??? Come on. I highly doubt Nolan would allow anyone that bad to be cast.
Everyone was shocked when LEdger was chosen, and it turned out great. I think he has the innate ability to:
A. Find actors that will suit his films
B. Get the best acting out of them
C. Cast the whole movie with actors who play off each other very well -

Have you seen sweeney todd??jordo212000 wrote:

McFly1955I remember a rumor awhile back of Crispin Glover playing the villain in this film....As the Riddler.
Glover is most known as "George McFly", and since BTTF is my all time favorite movie, I welcome this idea and actually think he would do an awesome job. -
justincredible
I didn't realize how young he was when the played McFly. He was only 21.McFly1955 wrote: I remember a rumor awhile back of Crispin Glover playing the villain in this film....As the Riddler.

Emmett Brown
Michael J Fox is older than Glover and he plays Glovers son in the movie.justincredible wrote:

Now THAT is an interesting idea right there ...Laley23 wrote:
He would be great, no doubt. But my #1 choice is Michael Emerson (Ben Linus, from LOST). If you watch LOST, you know his acting would be absolutely PERFECT for this role.Trueblue23 wrote: I really hope Depp plays the Riddler, which is what everyone wants

So you are using a musical to try and give Depp "evil-street cred" haha. Okay.DeyDurkie5 wrote:

Maybe not evil. But Depp can play the dark character very well.jordo212000 wrote:

-Sweeny Todd
-Edward Scissorhands
-The Secret Window
-Donnie Brasco
-Whats Eating Gilbert Grape
-Sleepy Hollow
He has also been the antagonist in many of his roles, almost all of which he gets the audience to side with him. This even includes his work with Pirates of the Caribbean and recently Public Enemies among several others.
Im one that would like to see a few others which I have mentioned first....but Depp would be very solid in this role. Becoming "evil" isnt that tough, especially with good writing and good directing (which Nolan clearly brings). The "dark" aspect of the acting is tougher and Depp has already shown he has the capability.
He isnt weird in all his movies like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory/Pirates/Alice in Wonderland. I HIGHLY DOUBT that type of role/acting would make its role into this type of file. It would be the acting/roles of the movies listed above. -

are you kidding? It's probably as dark a musical as you get and Depp shows his dark side in it. Just because it's a musical doesn't take away what type of dark character sweeney was and how well he portrayed it.jordo212000 wrote:

IGN.com has been touting Emerson for that role for the last year or so. I think he would be a great choice for the part. -
gibby08Glover has been mentioned as The Scarecrow
It's pretty much all but announced that Johnny Depp will be the Riddler -
justincredible
Is Cillian Murphy not going to continue that role?gibby08 wrote: Glover has been mentioned as The Scarecrow
