Buried or cremated?
-
justincredibleWhich are you planning on when you pass?
I plan on being cremated and having my ashes spread on my grandparents farm in Toboso, OH where I was born and raised. -
wes_mantoothcremated.
I want my ashes thrown into the eyes of an enemy. -

BRFI would also like to be cremated.
I never thought about it before, but this is what I would also want:
I hope there would be enough ashes to go around for me!wes_mantooth wrote: I want my ashes thrown into the eyes of an enemy.
Now, you and Justin get over to my thread and make some comments! -

UANygi know cremated is whats hot right now, but there is something traditional about a casket and a headstone that i like. bury me please.

LJNatural burial
None of that concrete vault, floating for eternity bullshit. -
End of LineBuried.
My family has all their plots in one area. -
TimberCremated (Like both parents)... not sure where I want the remains. After donating the organs anyone would want.
After my father passed away... My mom, sister and I were looking at urns for the buriel. The guy at the funeral home asked if we wanted any individual urns to keep ashes for ourselves. I started laughing and asked both of them if they have watched "Meet the parents" I could not get that scene out of my head where Ben Stiller opened the Mums champaign and the cork knocked the urn off the mantle. Too much pressure to make any mistakes with the remains that would traumatize me for life. LOL... Loved my parents way too much to ever stress out over the remains. -
mtrulzCremated. If I was buried, chances are that someone would shit/piss on my stone. I want my family to keep me and take me places. If I was buried, I couldn't go anywhere with them, just be left behind.

tk421Dig a hole in the ground and toss me in. I'll be dead, what do I care? The whole casket thing is creepy; it's a worm food box.

homefieldCremation is the way to do it.
Traditional burial in excess of $10,000.00 +headstone
Cremation is around $1,000.00
Less cost and less hassle for the family -
Curly JCremated, after any usable body parts are taken.
-
purplesageNO MAGGOT BUFFET FOR ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scatter them at the bottom of turn 12("madness"") at Mid-Ohio!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
tk421It's the way of life, natural burial without embalming/casket will help fertilize the ground. I don't want a rotten casket left behind a 100 years after I'm dead.
-
gerb131Ashes for me. I as well would like to be scattered at my grandparents farm in Norwich Oh.

I Wear PantsBuried. Something calming about turning back into dirt.

I agree with this, although my father passed away in 2005 and he was cremated....it was not cheaper at all. We did a viewing, so we had to rent a casket, bought a headstone and we had a bunch of other expenses as well. If you do a basic "graveside" or whatever service it is cheaper, but if you go the route we did, it is just as expensive.homefield wrote: Cremation is the way to do it.

Gobuckeyes1Same as Gerb...cremation with my ashes scattered at my family farm. The farm has been in the family since the 1850's. My ancestor who purchased the farm went on the California gold rush in the 1850's. Found enough gold to come back to Ohio and buy the land. I can't think of a more appropriate place.
