Someone is getting fired.

it's easy to laugh at something you don't understand.Gardens35 wrote: I am internet LOL'ing at this thread.
If I was pissed because I worked at Nationwide and the mailroom girl didn't send my personal mail, then yes you would have a point. But see, that isn't the case at all. Not even close. -
Skyhook79"I told the person who handles the mail "this is a very important piece of mail, make sure you meter this and get it out"
It's pretty simple to me, you never said Please and Thank-You. Typical Moderator behavior..... -

Don't forget to name call while responding to a post that you took way to seriously on the serious business forum.....LJ wrote: Hey lets take the thread title literal, laugh at an actual problem, then blame someone for not getting a service they have paid for. -

Same reason people can't detect satire.LJ wrote: Why do people take thread titles so literal. Geez.
Me saying "Fired, eh?" wasn't supposed to be taken literally, either. -

If you would have wanted something mailed it would have been done.Fab1b wrote:

LJSo corporate emailed me back already. They asked if a month's free rent an a personal apology from the employee would suffice.
I accepted. -

AppleNot a whole lot you can do about it as far as I see. Yes, you could call corporate and put in a complaint and it would go against her.
If she is really a piss-poor service provider, then this is probably a prudent action to take. It could however, cause resentment by her, resulting in ever poorer service that she provides to you.
If she is someone you deal with everyday and is a good worker overall, I would think the best solution would be to react in a way that would make her want to perform her job better for you. I would pull her aside for a minute, explain the situation... give her a guilt trip per se, then tell her you know she can do better. Acknowledge that everyone makes mistakes, but this one by her is particularly troublesome because you took the time to mention how important it was. Hopefully, this will make her pay special attention to your requests, not because she has been reprimanded, but because you took the time to deal with her in a personal way.
Maybe I just look at the glass always being full and try to see what good can come out of a bad circumstance. -
Gardens35A personal apology from the substitute mail-bucket girl. WIN!

Fab1bI would just straight up smack her!!

I actually ended up not mentioning her name in the email because they have had some temps in and out, but the personal apology will be from her because she is acting branch manager.Apple wrote: Not a whole lot you can do about it as far as I see. I was told by another friend that the free month's rent was offered because they don't know what the important piece of mail was and they are hoping that the month's free rent would cover any late fees I may have experienced if it was a payment. -
Cat Food Flambe'Fist shaking and thunder and even free rent is all well and good, but the fact is that you put someone you don't know between your girlfriend and a potential job.
For something this critical, I still prefer to do things like this myself. Yes, I know you pay good money for the service, but it's one less person that can derail the process. -

queencitybuckeyePeople make mistakes. It's unfortunate that the mistake was made on something really important, but that falls under shit happens. Unless this is just the latest in a series of screw-ups, I'd forget about it.

Knowing the company they would have filed it under "shit happens" if it was isolated. I think they know with temps going in and out that they aren't making any friends with their clients.queencitybuckeye wrote: People make mistakes. Isn't this always the case? Unless he personally delivered the thank you letter to the prospective employer (and the person who actually conducted the interview), there's always someone unknown in between.Cat Food Flambe' wrote: Fist shaking and thunder and even free rent is all well and good, but the fact is that you put someone you don't know between your girlfriend and a potential job.

I took a time-sensitive package to the post office Friday at 5pm. Didn't know the lady that took it from me, but I'm glad it got there and the party called me yesterday to complain that they got it! I trusted her to do her job and she did it.
He trusted someone to meter mail and they didn't do it. Shit happens and sometimes it's not good shit. -
Gardens35Fix/modify/minimize/deflect as you like.....bottom line is that you reported the substitute mail bucket lady to corporate. BIG Win for you. Small mind, but BIG win.

She has been the assistant branch manager for 8 years and only took over the mail after the person below her left.Gardens35 wrote: Fix/modify/minimize/deflect as you like.....bottom line is that you reported the substitute mail bucket lady to corporate. BIG Win for you. Small mind, but BIG win.
