derek bomarColumbus really isn't bad
-
cbus4lifeDisagree with Columbus.
It is bad, but not worthy of #8. -
BoatShoesYou know...I really don't Cleveland's that bad either. Sure the wind whipping off the lake into my face doesn't feel like a massage or anything but it could be worse IMO.
-
ZoltanThe worst thing about Cleveland, and Ohio in general is the lack of sun. In Minneapolis it may be really cold, but the sun is usually out.
-
BoatShoes^It is grey an awful lot.
-
derek bomarYea the grey sucks ass
-
Little DannyThe artcile does not state the city with the most snow; it is the city with the worst winter weather. Temperature, sunshine and wind is a factor they considered. As others have pointed out, it is very gray here for several months.
Someone I work with from Wisconsin told me a funny: OHIO stands for Over Here It is Overcast -
Laley23Ohio in general has like 125 days of sunshine a year. A city like San Diego has over 250 a year.
Now I dont know what that entails in terms of clouds in the summer time. But regardless, its no wonder the midwest sucks for weather. -
ts1227Columbus is only bad because they don't know how to drive.
-
Cleveland BuckCleveland sucks in the winter, but we are used to it, so it doesn't seem so bad.
-
myron pater boswellWorst part of Cleveland's winter is March and April.
You see the Weather Channel map of temps, and see it's 70 in Cincinnati, 62 in Columbus...and 43 in Cleveland. Does it those entire two months.
And I do disagree with Columbus as #8. Those winters were pretty tepid compared to Cleveland when I lived there. -
cbus4lifeI do agree that the amount of overcast and grey days in Columbus during the winter definitely contributes to it being rather shitty for those months.

Check out Denver. They wear out sunglasses in that City. I once read it was approximately 300! -

300 is about right, and not an exaggeration either, My wife & I lived there for 6 years and we would get a 1'-2' snow storm and it would be sunny and in the 60's the next day!Con_Alma wrote: Check out Denver. They wear out sunglasses in that City. I once read it was approximately 300! -
LJNo Buffalo and no Syracuse = that list being shit
Buffalo= 91" of snowfall per year
Syracuse= 120" of snowfall per year. -

It's cloudy, cold, and snows (like multiple inches of snow) in Buffalo October-April.Little Danny wrote: The artcile does not state the city with the most snow; it is the city with the worst winter weather. Last year my gf's parents' came to Columbus for an event and got home on April 7th to 7" of fresh snow on the ground. It was in the 60's here. -
slide22Surprised that Buffalo wasn't on there.
-
LJ
Or Erie PA, both are worse than Cleveland. The further east you go on the lake, not only is it further north, but the snow is much worse.slide22 wrote: Surprised that Buffalo wasn't on there.
Driving to Buffalo on 90, it's always shut down in Dunkirk in the winter, which is between Erie and Buffalo. -
slide22I know. I have friends from upstate New York who say that the snow sometimes doesn't melt until mid-May or later.
-
Little DannyI think city size and population fits into the equation here. I too agree places like Buffalo, Erie, Fargo ND, etc are much worse.

There's old pics of my gf's dad standing on a snow pile holding a newspaper dated "June 18th, 1987" lolslide22 wrote: I know. I have friends from upstate New York who say that the snow sometimes doesn't melt until mid-May or later. -
Con_AlmaThat doesn't surprise me. Was he in an upper elevation??
-
LJ

Buffalo is big enough to fit in on the list. The metro area is over 1.2 million.Little Danny wrote: I think city size and population fits into the equation here. I too agree places like Buffalo, Erie, Fargo ND, etc are much worse.
