Has this site jumped the shark?
-
HereticYes, whether this site has jumped the shark or not, boobs never will!
-
SageI do too, but in the end of the day, they're lumps of fat.
The number one problem on here is people taking themselves too seriously.
For example, I make a thread entitled "Men who play softball are G A Y - GAY." This is something I believe to be fact, but at the end of the day--it's opinion. It doesn't change anything. If you enjoy playing a woman's sport, then my opinion shouldn't hurt you.
What I don't get is the need for 3 different threads declaring soccer is gay, and that people who make threads about things being gay is gay, and another one calling me out.
This all could have been accomplished in the original thread.
Admittedly, it was a pretty juvenile way to start an argument about (what I believe to be) the worst sport in the history of manhood, but I am never stunned at just how fast "adults" (and I'm using that term loosely here) can be turned into babbling idiots. (Yes, Karen Lotz, I am staring at you right now). -

Nobody called you out. I just wanted to discuss the uselessness of the spice Sage in anything other than making sausage.Sage wrote: and another one calling me out.
In all seriousness you thread didn't offend me. I was just bored at work and tired of reading everyone calling everyone gay. -
SageAnd, I'll be clear, I have Huddle blood on my hands. In fact, I look like I just fucked a virgin on her period.
I enjoy fucking with people and see how I can jangle them around with illogical comments and see just how riled I can get them. It's a completely immature aspect of my personality that usually manifests itself when I'm bored out of mind. (My insomnia last night produced the softball thread, for example).
The Huddle deserves better posting from me, as it does from a lot of people here. The intelligent people on this forum are getting drowned out by people that have avatars of Mario fucking princess peach and people who think they have to make their own threads to get their point across.
This does not mean that I won't continue to beat the living shit (internet tough guy style, obvii) out of Celtic and Notre Dame fans, but I will turn down my immaturity and my baiting. -
september63Fucked a virgin on her period? Is how you are toning it down? LOL

majorsparkOne thought would be two have general forums, one for serious business and one for funny business, or whatever you want to call it. This would allow everyone to post freely yet not have to sort through al the BS. If you don't like the funny business you don't evan have to go into that forum. The only rule change to the serious business forum would be content. If somone posts something stupid in the serious forum the mods can move it. Whether this would be too much for the mods to maintain, I don't know.
We already have a politics forum and that keeps the politics BS out. And really once people learn where to post things they handle it themselves. This way I think you will be able to keep around a lot of those looking for information and serious discussion. Nothing would be censored for those looking to be silly, stupid, or funny. They would have their place as well.
Just my thoughts if this continues to be a problem. -
Cleveland BuckI don't get the uproar about a fucking internet message board. If the copycat threads bother the mods, they can combine them back into the original thread. No one is forcing anyone to open the moronic threads. If you want to discuss something intelligently, start a thread. When one of the idiots chimes in with their 'cool story bro' pic or some other idiotic comment, just skip over those and look for the serious replies. There is no rule that you have to reply to the dumbass comments.

BRFWow! What an interesting thread! I like it!
Soooo many things to comment on.......where shall I start?
How about.............you can put a lot of blame for all this stupid thread starting crap on FFT and his "top posters" updates. Certain posters scramble to start threads so they can be in the Top Ten. Think about that for a moment, and then think about the threads that have been started and who starts them.
Another thing: Last night Sage got spanked on zwick's thread. I was digging it. The result has been seeing Sage make his weak attempts at explaining himself. He tried to attack me, too, but I just let it roll off. It was great.
Then we have Sleeper, another posting smart mouth who has set himself up for a beat down with military personnel. You see, sometimes you can bite off more than you can chew.
Both of these guys, and some others that you know, like to attack innocent posters who are just giving their opinions and appear to get great joy out of their ability to "burn" on them. What they don't like and don't expect is someone who fights back about it.
I agree with the posters who say that the quality of threads has gone down.
I also agree with the posters who say "then don't click on the thread".
And I say, if you don't like what's going on........then don't sit back and wait for someone else to give you the entertainment you want...........start it yourself!!!
I refer to Cleveland Buck's last post: Minus the f-word.......that is exactly how I feel.
p.s. - IMO, Cleveland Buck is a great example of knowing when and HOW to "lay the wood"! -

Nice one. I tip my hat to you. Just between you and me (and the others can wonder about this), I think zwick bent a little bit at the end!Early Cuyler wrote: Not what I saw. One other thing: What the hell does "jump the shark" mean? I don't feel like googling it, but if it means "past its prime" or "seen its better days", then just say that and don't use some lame Australian idiom.

My apologies for your lack of knowledge. You may be in the 1% of the world that doesn't know what that expression means: maybe you should occasionally read others things besides posts about Zwick on this site.BRF wrote:

BRFThat's a stupid saying, imo.
I've noticed the absence of a few major multiple thread starters today since this thread started, though.
Oh, but BigAppleBuckeye, you would probably be glad to know that I DO know what "teabagging" is.
And, might I add, what a classy tag. <-----that's sarcasm, for those who don't get it

Upper90I have no clue what teabagging is.
(That's actually sarcasm, but for curiosity, I wondered if a standard definition was on Wikipedia. It is. The 12 year old in me laughed heartily. I will spare everyone by not posting it here.) -
