Major Winter Storm This Weekend?
-
LJ7am and the drive from Bethel and Reed to the OSU Vet Hostpital was crappy but not bad. Olentangy was completely clear until you got to campus.
I haven't used 4wd once during this storm. It was just such a heavy wet snow that it was slick either way -
SalmomWork actually closed today...YAY!

You made it home ok. How was the drive?just_a_swimmer wrote:
The owner would never let me leave early. Just 30 minutes to go. Even with my 50 + hours this week. Been driving this for 20 some years. I will just take my time. I'll make it.september63 wrote: Coming down real hard in Tusc County. Swimmer you might wanna think about getting out of there a bit early today.
Thanks for thinking of me September....
My son is in Maryland. Just got off the phone with him. They have 24" and everyone is panicing. The people are just not used to that much snow. -
baseballstud24Just took the fiance to work downtown...the highways are clear. Gender Road is still kinda bad. My subdivision is horrible...She left her car in her garage last night at work...It's rear wheel drive and she was planning on driving it home this afternoon, but I don't think she'll be able to make it through my neighborhood.

ptown_trojans_1Already 20 inches, coming down hard and snow will continue till 10pm tonight. 200,000 people without power, I'm still good. Insanity outside, city is a ghost town. This is expected to be the worst snow storm in DC's history.
I'll post some pics when I get a chance to head outside. -
ironman02I think we ended up with around 7 inches in Jackson County.
All the rain yesterday morning and afternoon kept the total a little lower than it could have been. Glad it stayed in the high 30s for most of yesterday or we would have been destroyed.
I feel sorry for all the people in the DC area. Ridiculous snowfall totals over there. -
gerb131Just about a foot here in Fairfield County with some serious drifting.
-
Trueblue23The roads are nasty here in Fayette County.
-
darbypitcher22ptown,
I was there in '02 for the previous worst storm in D.C.'s history which oddly enough was right around this time.... -
THE4RINGZTen inches of snow in Wooster. Have yet to venture out because my street isn't plowed
-
AppleWe finally got Angel's driveway shoveled... took almost 2 hours.

I Wear PantsTook me 3 hours to get home from Cleveland last night and then the pizza place wouldn't deliver so I had to walk to Taco Bell. Even later in the night we bounced from ditch to ditch all the way home.
Couldn't get very far in the driveway so left the car at the end of it but made sure it was off the road. This morning we find out that the snowplow had flung a rock and smashed the rear windshield. -

That reminds me of my friend in the military: Major Bummer!I Wear Pants wrote: This morning we find out that the snowplow had flung a rock and smashed the rear windshield.
The problem around these parts today has been packed down snow on the roads and driveways that the plows can't get down to. It's like a hard packed glacier in many spots.
Now, it's getting really cold out with a low of 5 projected for tonight. -
noreply66more coming in Tuesday and Wednesday

ts1227Selected spotter measurements from the NCEP storm summary for Ohio:
(In theory these measurements should have been made by people who know what they are doing, and not some dumbass measuring a drift)
