Always gone with Boombah. It's hard to compete with their quality and team rates.

I've been swinging a Miken Recoil. It's been one hell of a bat for me...especially since I only payed $100 for it.

Miken Freaks are always very solid bats and most would be at or under $200.

A guy on my team sent his Recoil out to get shaved and rolled. It was amazing the difference it made in the bat. I liked it before he got it done and afterward it wasn't even fair. I need a new one as well for this summer.

Shaved bats are ridiculous. I used one a few times 2 years ago and line drived the 3rd baseman right in the chest. It was pretty scary, but he was fine. I know the guy and he is an awesome fielder...so that right there told me that there's no place for shaved bats. Bats are sick as they are. Getting them shaved is just dangerous.

Yeah I felt sorry for our pitcher in some of the tourneys I played in in Columbus this past summer. Its crappy that teams are playing down a level to begin with and then everyone that comes up is hitting ropes all over the place with shaved bats.

All's you need for men's softball uni's are ones that expand around the belly from all the beer that the players will drink.

    Softball uniform = sponsor t-shirt & shorts.

We always get a good chuckle out of the guys that show up in baseball pants, stirrup socks, and the eyeblack!

recoils are very nice, but the price keeps going up. get the nrg 500 if you are on a budget, but need to put about 1000 or more hits on it before it starts to open up and get hot. huge seetspot.

I always used to laugh at those guys until i got a pair of ball pants, I'll never wear shorts again. They aren't hot and way more comfortable.

No offense to anyone here, but I was in my first adult men's softball league last year, and I thought a lot of things were hilarious...I'm 5 years out of high school, played a few years of varsity baseball, and I absolutely did not take softball seriously.

I show up the first week and everyone is walking around in their major league uniforms, eye black, wristbands with their number on them, jumbo sized high quality bat bags, shaved/doctored bats....I couldn't believe it, friggin hilarious. I wore shorts and a t-shirt, no hat, almost every game...I wore plain colored softball pants a couple weeks when it was cold. 70% of these people were 5-8 years out of high school, still partying and acting like they are in high school, and arguing with the umps like it was the world series, 15% were 40 year old drunks, and 15% were normal, cool people.

    /end mens softball rant, sorry.

As for uniforms, if it were me, I'd have everyone get a matching pair of softball/baseball pants (no pinstripes... y so serious??) and a t-shirt with your number....Anything else makes you look ghey, in my opinion, of course.

gotta love the Beer Leaguers who treat it like every game is the World Series...
