First of all...eye black is effective. Ever played in the sun? Second, who wants to slide in shorts? And if you don't intend to slide..then why are you playing?se-alum wrote: Softball uniform = sponsor t-shirt & shorts.
We always get a good chuckle out of the guys that show up in baseball pants, stirrup socks, and the eyeblack!
I have no problem with people taking games serious and wanting to win. That's what competition is all about. I do have issues with guys getting in umpires faces and stuff, but I have issues with that in all sports. -
bartsimpsonbases loaded (or anyone else)....email me at [email protected] I am a team rep for a major sporting goods company. I'll see what I can do

baseballstud24I love the guys who get so worked up over it all. Like there are scouts in the stands or something. I mean, I like to win, but it's not going to ruin my night if we lose.

bases_loadedLook....I get it...softball guy(althought I was probably better than you at baseball but would never be "baseballstud24") ...whatever...we have sponsor money, we play in a couple tournaments a month and all the state and national ones and want some snazzy uniforms(tongue in cheek, sarcasm font). We are all still pretty young and are competitive people so like playing for things, we play in the muni league too but wont be wearing the uniforms in that. Anyways thanks for the help and you have mail baseballguy134

This_DJ_3I play on 4 teams in the summer, 3 in the fall and love the game and the camraderie of the game. I hated baseball (quit after junior year in high school) because it was so boring, but am a huge fan of softball.
As far as ASA goes, i just scooped a 2008 Easton Synergy Flex about 2 months ago on Ebay for $220 still in wrapper with warranty. It's the best ASA bat i've ever come across (atleast the 2006 was, i have very limited experience with the 2008 but hear they are very similar), although i think the Recoil is definitely at the top of the ASA selection as well.
Just be patient if you're bat shopping, you have months before the weather gets warm enough to start breaking your bat in anyways so just patrol Ebay every few days and try to snipe one last minute without bidding it up. Worked for me.
BTW....if you got pop you don't need a shaved bat -

What do you think? Probably goin to pull the trigger on this deal. I've been doin some reading and talkin with different people who LOVE the recoil. -
Hb31187I played on 2 local teams and then a "E" traveling team last year (Blacked out softball) And let me tell you what...some of your guys stereotypes about older guys who are trying to relive their glory days are way off. I mean sure theres one or 2 of those teams ever now and then. But for the most part its like 21-35 year old guys playing and its competitive....well at least the USSSA tournies are

Fab4RunnerWanting to wear pants rather than shorts is understandable but I also find it hilarious when old dudes take softball so seriously.
Speaking of shorts...why in the hell to girls HS softball teams wear them? Whose idea was that? I mean I know softball players might be jealous of the little spandex shorts that volleyball players get to wear (even though some shouldn't be allowed) but come on. They are completely inappropriate for softball. Who wants to slide in shorts?? -

I find it hard to shop for a bat for the Chillicothe leagues, because you never know which ASA bats will be deemed illegal. I know there were quite a few of the Synergies on the list last year, along w/ a bunch of Miken's. Surprisingly, all the ASA stamped DeMarini's were legal. It just makes it really hard to shop for a bat prior to the season. -
