Best steak you have ever had

  • slingshot4ever
I have been to a few places in Vegas, Chicago and NYC. Locally I have been to Mancy's in Toledo, Ruths Chris and Mortons up in Michigan, Hyde Park and Mitchells in Columbus.

Ruths Chris is by far the best steak I have ever had. I typically get filet mignon.

honestly the best steak i have EVER had was at a restaurant in the Day Inn hotel in Jelico, Tn right off of I75. This Steak was nothing short of G.O.A.T

A porterhouse is a combination of two cuts. I was talking about one specific cut when I said Filet.

Which cut do you like best?

The porterhouse at Peter Luger in Brooklyn, and nothing I have ever tasted has ever come close. My old man is a stickler for steak, and he demands an annual visit here for his birthday:

I went to Strip House on 12th the last time i visited NYC. Didn't call early enough to get a reservation at Lugers in Brooklyn. I was pissed. I am sure once I have that steak, Ruths Chris will get bumped down.

I've had Mancy's and Ruth Chris. I get a fresh cow here from northern Ohio and as long I can get the right cooking temp, it is as good as those two.

The Chop House in Chicago or The Top locally. For cut I prefer a t-bone.

    Locally (Toledo), Mancys.

Elsewhere, Janko's Little Zagreb in Bloomington, IN.

If you ever make it to Phuket, Thailand I would recommend hitting a place called Sam's Steaks. The food and wine there were great. Had a Filet that was amazing.

Now, the best steak I have ever had is a Marinated Skirt Steak from Winner's Meats in Osgood, OH off the grill. Words don't do justice to just how delicious this is.

Besides that, I agree with ccrunner in that I make my own best steak.

Mancys' is great, and has the best steak in the greater Toledo area, but the best Prime-Rib that I ever had was years ago at Frank Unkle's.

Johnny Krotzer's in Toledo. It's now the site of Hooter's. Although they don't serve steak, the decor has improved somewhat.

Krotzer's was the best when it was opened, even better than Mancy's. Many family memories from that place. Thanks. Iref.

Winners does have good meats. My grandfather used to take me there all the time as a kid. It has been many years, but I remember always getting pork crackling from there.
