However, thank god i'll be moving to D.C. soon.

Nothing against Ohio, but just doesn't "fit" me all that well. But, i will always defend it to the death against ignorant fools everywhere.

It isn't nearly as bad as some who have never lived here make it out to be.
So is your name changing to "dc4life"?

Nope. :) Name was never meant to imply that i would be in Columbus "4life," just wanted to show my appreciation for a city i have come to really love, even though i don't want to spend my life here, or anything close to it.

Ohio has a lot going for it.

But if you interviewed people with no connections if they'd want to live there, I don't think they would choose Ohio. The economy is fairly stagnant; the cities aren't particularly clean or pretty; the taxes are relatively high; and Ohio is generally lacking the "sexy" factor of a NY or CA (where people can overlook a lot of other bad things). How many people do you know who take vacations to Ohio?

OH has some cool things, such as what has been listed above, but it's not really a business friendly state, nor does it have a good climate. It sure beats Michigan and Indiana as places to live, but being ahead of Michigan isn't something to brag about.
