WWE Fans: Bret Hart Confirmed to Guest Host RAW January 4th

  • Elliot Stabler
On my DirecTV RAW preview for January 4th it says "Shocking Guest Host Bret The Hitman Hart returns to confront Mr McMahon."
  • krazie45
Definitely used to counter TNA's Hogan debut on their monday night show.....amazing idea. It will be interesting to see if we'll see a Hart-Michaels confrontation

WWE will crush TNA now that night.

I hope the pop in Dayton is as big as this was.

Both companies seem to be going all out.

Bret Hart is a monster get for sure, and will be interesting to watch.

I also saw recently that Scott Hall and X-Pac were going to show up on TNA that night to stage an NWO reunion with Hogan and Nash.

Needless to say if Hogan had any other tricks up his sleeve he best pull them out because Bret going to WWE was about the only thing big enough to eclipse Hogan's big night, and they appear to be ready to pull it off.

I will say it is nice to see both promotions actually putting in some effort for once to shake things up.

Nash used that "band back together" line a couple of different times in the past when they tried to revive the NWO. I used to get excited when I heard Hall was on his way back, but I'm not going to hold my breath for his being sober enough the day of the show to actually be put on TV.

Tyson is host the week after too. Hopefully they feel some competition and produce better shows.

Could be a decent run up to Wrestlemania if Hart stays in the fold and manages the new Hart Foundation or something like that in a fued against DX...

It will be huge..but it won't be nothing like that..b/c they have let the cat out of the bag already..if they would have kept it hush hush..as best as they could..it would be an unreal pop then as well. But since everyone knows it's coming..probably not so much.
  • osu45804
That's pretty cool.... I can't wait to see who they announce for the 25th in Columbus
  • darbypitcher22
yeah gotta keep it completely quiet to get a huge pop like that

Hart is a turd and always has been.

He constantly cries, saying he was screwed by Vince, bullshit.
  • Tigerfan00
Actually, Micheals, HHH and Vince put that whole thing together in Montreal, so yes it in fact was bigtime screwjob and to this day anytime they are in Canada, Micheals still gets booed big time. I realize it was a long time ago now and its water under the bridge but Vince turned his back on his most loyal worker at the time.

Actually, the job was done because Hart refused to drop the belt in Montreal. He wanted to beat HBK then drop the title the next night on RAW, which is stupid. Hart basically told Vince that he would no show if he didn't get his way, so Vince did what needed to be done. If Hart wouldn't have refused to listen to his boss, the whole thing never would have happened.

Exactly. He couldn't differentiate between himself and his character. He said he shouldn't have to lose in his "home country". He didn't seem to have a problem winning the belt in America, so how much sense does that make?

Vince didn't want Hart to take the belt to WCW like Madusa did.

Bret Hart refused to lose the title in his home country where everyone up there loves him.

Which is Hart refusing to do his job.

They were in Montreal, not Calgary where Hart is from.....That's like HBK saying he wouldn't drop the belt anywhere in America. It was absolutely ridiculous. Hart just didn't like Michaels and didn't want to job to him, but HBK was the ideal person to give the belt to at the time because he was the best heel in the company and he needed to set up the Austin era at WM that year. All this after Vince actually got Bret more money in WCW. They absolutely did the right thing.

That's not the whole truth.. McMahon was on the verge of going bankrupt because of WCW's success. A few years prior to "The Screwjob", Vince signed Hart to a huge deal, so large he was unable to pay Hart the entire sum. He allowed Hart to use him as a bargaining tool to get more money from WCW.. so in a sense, Vince couldn't pay Hart so he let him lie to WCW to get more cash..
  • KnightXC1
Well Vince did screw over Bret in the sense that Bret and Vince agreed beforehand that the match would end in a DQ with all sorts of things going on which would lead Bret to drop the title the following night on Raw. Vince, HHH, HBK, and Earl Hebner were all in on it and made sure Bret would not keep the title to possibly take it to WCW. So in that sense, Bret did get screwed by Vince.

Anyways, I will be attending this Raw now and I can't wait. Th epic Hart-HBK showdown is bound to happen!

Looks like another rendition of the "Monday Night Wars".

WWE will crush TNA!!! TNA is making a huge mistake paying millions to all of these old has beens, like WCW did over a decade ago. TNA does not have the financial backing of a Ted Turner like WCW did back then. TNA is probably going to be on the verge of bankruptcy after hiring senior citizens like Hogan. The difference between WCW in the 90s and TNA today is that WCW had the financial backing AND stars like Hogan were 15 years younger back in WCW then they are today in TNA.

I think Vince should target a few key TNA wrestlers when their contracts are up and simply offer them the WWE minimum contract. This would force TNA to dish out more money to keep their stars and push them further to bankruptcy. There are really only a handful of wrestlers that he should do this with, as most of the TNA roster is filled with former WWE has beens or younger guys who were in WWE developmental contracts who were released from those WWE contracts. Other than a handful of wrestlers, TNA is basically a roster of former WWE talent that Vince let go.

I'll be at the Nuthouse for this one. It should be interesting to see how Bret will be involved.

This is definitely not a return of the Monday night war. This is just a one-time live Monday night show for TNA. Their ratings and house show attendance show they are currently not capable of competing with WWE.

^^^^^I know that. It was a joke.
