Smart phone disscusion. Looking into getting one.
-
namod65Yeah I know, I'm finally getting with the rest of the world lol. I'm looking into getting a new phone and I'm going to be getting a smart phone. I was just looking to see what people here thought about the current ones available. I'm definitely going to be using it to do a lot of social networking and web browsing stuff. Also will want to link my email to it. I have a ipod touch right now which is what I use to play mp3s and such, and would like to pretty much replace this with my phone. I know the big decision is to decide between an Android or Iphone. Right now I'm leaning towards an Android (maybe a Droid Razr?). I've never liked Apple products (only use the ipod touch because it was free), so it's going to take some convincing to get me to change.
So what do you guys like and not like about the smart phone you have? -
RotinajI'm an ifag. I suggest you follow suit.

wes_mantoothGalaxy s3....
Best thing out right now.
I have a rezound....it is ok. Kid has a nexus...not a fan -
Glory Daysand...here...we...go
-
supermanI have a Nexus. I like it.
However the SIII is the way to go. -
TedShecklerSmart phones are just a fad.
-
OSHMy wife has an iPhone (unfortunately).
My mom just got a Samsung Stratosphere -- her first smartphone, supposed to be good for starters.
My dad just got a Casio Commando -- it's one of those "rugged" phones, which he needs.
I have a BlackBerry, and I've enjoyed having it. -
gport_tennisIM assuming you have verizon. the galaxy s 3 and the razor maxx are the top 2 phones on verizon. if you want something a little bit smaller than those 2 the lg lucid or htc droid incredible 4 g are great choices as well.
-
imex99Either wait 2 months for the best phone, iPhone 5 or go with the best now, galaxy 3.
-
sherm03RAZR MAXX > Galaxy S 3
-
namod65Yeah I'm on Verizon. Not looking to spend a fortune just to get the most powerful one out there. From what I have read elsewhere, the S3 has the best specs and is capable of some serious 3d gaming and such. But I don't think I would use that often.
-
wes_mantoothThe S3 is priced pretty damn good...it can be had on amazonwireless for 150 I think and 200 at verizon. The Maxx is still like 300 I think and spec wise isn't really in the ballpark, but if battery life is a big deal to you...def an option. The one thing with both these phones is that they are huge. So if you have small hands, I would def look at something like the Incredible 4g or something like that.
also, if you are a whore for the "pure android experience"...even though I am not a fan of the Nexus, it had a price drop to 99 on verizon. -

namod65No I like the large size which is one reasons why I was looking into those two.

Can't say I hear "Blackberry" and "enjoyed" in the same sentence very often, if ever. Unless it's "I enjoyed getting rid of my Blackberry."OSH;1234140 wrote: I have a BlackBerry, and I've enjoyed having it. -
TedShecklerPeople still use Blackberries? They still in business?

This might be the funniest thing you've ever posted.sherm03;1234253 wrote:RAZR MAXX > Galaxy S 3 -
AutomatikAre you old? Do you have Verizon?
Get the Casio Commando. -
namod65No I'm not old but I know what you are saying about the Commando. My friend has one and it is just a tank. Saw the dude drop it in a pitcher of beer, take it out, then drop it in a pitcher of water to rinse it off. Didn't even phase it.
I'm starting to lean towards the S3 then. Looks like battery life is the only thing the MAXX has going for it. For 150 it looks like the S3 will be my choice. -

I was just asking because you just finally got around to getting a smartphone. My dad has been wanting one and currently has the Casio Brigade (?), and it is a beast. He destroys phones so I told him go with the Casio again.namod65;1234458 wrote:No I'm not old but I know what you are saying about the Commando. My friend has one and it is just a tank. I'd go S3 then, no doubt about it. -

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I have heard this a time or two. :laugh:TedSheckler;1234405 wrote:People still use Blackberries? They still in business?
For some reason, I do like it. Mainly I like the email better than anything I've had before. I think it is set up nicely. I don't use the internet much on it -- it is a little crappier internet feature. But, using the facebook and Twitter apps are nice.
I will be upgrading sometime. My wife used my upgrade to get her cult-product. So, I don't know what I'll move to next. I also like the size of the BlackBerry, all these other phones are HUGE. -
justincredibleI would not recommend getting an htc phone.
