    White people typically spend their money on something relevant and worthwhile; while black people spend their money on shoes and fake gold/diamond jewelry. When's the last time you've seen a black person buy a stock?

    Actually, educated people raised with good parenting tend spend their money on something relevant and worthwhile. Uneducated people raised through poor parenting tend to spend their money on frivolities.

    I know a TON of young white, black, Latin, and (a SLEW) Asian kids that would buy these shoes.

    There are too many examples of education level, socioeconomic status, and parenting being factors that determine behavior like this at a far more consistent level. Pick a black kid growing up in suburbia with two parents working middle-class jobs and pushing their son to do well in school. Pit him against a white kid the same age ... even going to the same school if you want ... who has one parent working a lower-class job (government assistance a possibility) and who rarely has time to be home to push his/her son to excel in school and be responsible.

    Which one buys the shoes?

    Not really. I suppose it depends where you're from ... but ah, doesn't that bring an interesting dynamic into it? Perhaps the subcultures of different areas plays a role into who would buy these?

    I consider "faith" to be a cop-out in the way you're using it (don't worry, I see it as a cop-out when Christians use it the same way).

    Plus, religions tend to have a metaphysical element ascribed to them, AND they do tend to be built on a logical framework. It merely uses different/fewer/more presuppositions than the worldview to which you currently subscribe.

    Therefore, some kind of logical construct is still required to believe what you're saying if you want someone to take you seriously.

    However, we do live in a nation that, for the time being, still permits freedom of thought and belief. Inasmuch as that is true, continue to think the way you do. Anecdote isn't insufficient for your belief, as it can be manifest in a tangible experience ... an empirical encounter. It is insufficient for anyone ELSE to take your position meritoriously.

    The decision to mass produce is based on the sales forecast from the people who come up with the idea. I'm sure someone, somewhere, would buy an actual bag of crap, and that doesn't take the salesperson off-the-hook for a dumb idea.

    O-Trap I don't believe sleeper has the stones to really get into this discussion with you. When he has in the past he has pretty much faded away when proven wrong. Which is typical sleeper. One week he is on the religion tip this week he is on the whole "minorities are crying about everything". While he cries about them crying. I find it humorous, somewhat clown like in his broad generalizations.
