Student weapon class

Raw Dawgin' itSo you've never had to use your weapon. Clearly these situations didn't need a gun pulled to have them resolved.
I think people that carry guns think it makes them safer when in reality they'd be just as safe w/o them. -

Potential twice: Where I had the weapon and my hand was ready to pull it out and prepared to use it if the situation would have escalated.
What part of "situation would have escalated" did you not understand?
I'm 62 years old I been stabbed, gun held to my head, beat up a few times, house broken into, stopped a bank robber and a store hold up, stopped bar fight and been in a few in my younger days.
I don't turn my back if I see some wrong and I sure the hell do stop and let the other guy handle the problem. I do carry my weapon for back up now at 62 years old but then again you only need back up if you get involved. Something some people are fearful of doing… </SPAN>

RDi Do you have kids?
If your kid found a gun along the road (very likely now days) ....
What would he/she do?
What would you want then to do?
How would he/she know what to do?
Remember I answere you question. -
DeyDurkie5The point is you didn't use them.

FatHobbitKinda related. I'm going shooting this weekend and will be driving about 2 hours to get there. What is the proper way to transport weapons and ammo? I'd like to just throw it all in the trunk of my car, but I think they can't be in the same compartment. Is that true? I'll have 3 or 4 rifles, a couple of pistols and at least 500 rounds. I think it would look strange for any of that to be in the front of the car with me if I get pulled over on the way there.

I don't know if there is a specific law, but what is the harm of it being in the same place? Are you going to climb into the trunk, while driving, to load up and take out some bad drivers?FatHobbit;1204771 wrote:Kinda related. Just toss it all in the trunk. Just leave everything UNLOADED. In the chance you get pulled over, say absolutely nothing about the guns in the trunk. They need a warrant to search the vehicle (unless of course, you say "DERP GO AHEAD")
There's a 99% chance he isn't going to ask what's in your trunk, and even if he does and you refuse the search, there's a 99% chance he isn't going to dick around and wait on a warrant.
Edit: If he specifically asks if you have guns in the trunk, or "anything dangerous", you should come clean and say you're going shooting. Still, you can refuse the search.
Or you could be a nice guy and just show him. But for reals, you don't have to. -

Store the ammo and weapons in separate compartments - ammo in the back seat weapons in the trunk.FatHobbit;1204771 wrote:Kinda related. You're probably right about the odds of something coming out of it being really low, but I don't want to get in trouble if I can easily help it. I'll be really surprised if I get pulled over, but it's a small possibility.dlazz;1204775 wrote:I don't know if there is a specific law, but what is the harm of it being in the same place? That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure. There will be 4 people in my car, and it's not big, so I guess they get to hold some ammo.Raw Dawgin' it;1204784 wrote:Store the ammo and weapons in separate compartments - ammo in the back seat weapons in the trunk. -
LJIt's all fine in the trunk, unloaded, in seperate containers.

This might be a stupid question, but do soft gun cases and cardboard boxes/plastic bags count as separate containers? Or do I need to put the ammo in some kind of container?LJ;1204811 wrote:It's all fine in the trunk, unloaded, in seperate containers. -

Anyway, to the OP, no, there should not be a student weapon class. Bring back driving class to schools first before they even think about a fucking weapon class. -

just have them in a separate place than the guns - that's all.FatHobbit;1204816 wrote:This might be a stupid question, but do soft gun cases and cardboard boxes/plastic bags count as separate containers? Or do I need to put the ammo in some kind of container? -

Unless the car needs to be towed for whatever reason. then an inventory would be conducted.dlazz;1204775 wrote:Just toss it all in the trunk. Just leave everything UNLOADED. Ammo and Clips in one storage bag. I also make sure the clip are unloaded;, it is a pain but safety and respect for the police.Weapons in another bag unload and no clip in the case.
I have ammo boxes so I do put a Plastic pull tie on the box just a little extra locking the box when traveling. If something should happen I don't want ammo all over the road some Liberal parents kid could pick it up a eat it.
