Panic Attacks?

  • Steel Valley Football
Anybody ever had them? What do you for them? I'm not sure if I had one, but I had major trouble breathing last night and it wasn't fun. Ive never felt anything like that, but I'm gonna talk to the doc just in case its something else.

In 1997, I got Meningitis and with it a heart infection that caused swelling. Not sure of the name - Myocardsomething. The spinal tap was bad, but I've always worried about the heart thing since then. Maybe its time to give up the OC. Its too stressful. ;)

No he posted a thread about how he gets chest pains and has a hard time breathing the day after he drinks.

Maybe you didn't have a panic attack, but had a heart palpitation?

Alcohol can increase anxiety. Chemical shit. Heart palpitations can come with anxiety too, I believe.

My roommate used to have them in college. He just needed to get out of the house, get some fresh air, and walk around to calm down. Was normal after that. If you had heart troubles before, I would highly suggest going to the doctor. Better to be safe than sorry. Don't want to be end up like Bill Stewart.

    This.

I used to get them when they thought my Dad had Kidney cancer. What worked best for me was going for walks. Nothing like a walk in a quiet neighborhood at 3am in the snow to calm you down.

LOL. Where were these helpful responses for my thread last year?

You were having trouble breathing after drinking wine coolers. Not a lot of compassion for that.

The OC didn't have enforced rules last year. And you were way too easy to mess around with.

I have a co-worker who said that, when he gets them, he puts his favorite (relaxing) music on headphones, sits in his recliner, and just focuses on the music. Focusing on the breathing just makes it worse.

As far as my "breathing troubles" ... they are either from anxiety or acid reflux. Will be seeing a specialist some time, but not in a rush.

LOL. Most people on the OC could not even hold a candle to the amounts of alcohol I was drinking on a daily basis.

Yeah why rush to see someone if you're having difficulty breathing. By the way, when you do see that specialist, they're going to ask how long your symptoms have been occurring, and you're going to look pretty ridiculous saying it's been happening for a couple years.

Holding a candle to alcohol sounds like a bad idea. Have you ever had a flaming Dr pepper? Not safe if you aren't careful.

Nice spin. I'm not saying I'm proud of it, but I was a fucking drunk, going through roughly 3-4 30 packs/week. I'm pretty sure your body doesn't like that.
