We need bullies! The future of our country, and the NFL depend on them.

Most people who actually have kids would disagree. And I used to react the same way as you both before I had kids when people w kids told me that. They'd say 'you have no idea' and they were right. Even though I thought I did.

Is there something so outrageous with my opinion that makes it invalid?

Aww were you bullied as a child? Did your mom not give you enough hugs or tell you she loved you when she wasn't dancing on the pole?

I'm surprised you haven't thrown in a "your mom" comment by now.

I think the "pussies need to suck it up" attitude reeks of "fuck you, got mine". People that say that generally back it up with anecdotes like "Well I was picked on in school and I got through just fine" which of course means that because YOU could do it, EVERYONE can.

Or there's the classic "bullying has been a thing for EVER! Why can't kids suddenly deal with it?" which is of course anecdotal and lacks any evidence. Not to mention the fact that "that's the way its always been" has never been a good reason to NOT solve a societal problem.

THEN we have the classic "There are much worse problems in the world" argument which again doesn't hold up under scrutiny. Problems are relative. What may be a big deal to you is not a big deal to someone else. Maybe to you, someone calling you fat or ugly or gay is nothing to feel bad over, let alone blow your brains out over. But for many kids, this is literally the worst thing that has ever happened to them, who are you to question their feelings? You think YOUR problems are bad? Oh you have cancer? Boo hoo, you live in the country with the greatest medical care in the world and you have a roof over your head and a warm meal on your table. Imagine having cancer in some third world country. See how that works? There are ALWAYS bigger problems.

Every kid is different. Every kid will handle bullying differently. Kids, by definition have not developed the coping skills to get through problems like this. Call me a pussy or post two consecutive capital q's (clever) to indicate that I am a big baby, but I'd rather stick up for kids who are being bullied. You and I have no right to judge. All we can do is try our best to raise our own kids in the best way possible. In the meantime, let's not be bully apologists.

I didn't see you post an opinion. I saw a few guesses and some "can't and don't" understands.

Oh, I guess this isn't an opinion?
I do think that kids need to be taught to stick up for themselves but only in the event that someone is bullying them.

I have an opinion on you and your kids, but you'd probably whine about it and i'd get infracted

Why do you feel the need to bother other people? Bullying is the most retarded thing in the world. Probably have an inch cock and have to feel the need to justify it somehow. The arguement of "well if the kids weren't raised to be pussies then they wouldn't be getting their ass kicked" is flawed and stupid. Raise your kids to respect other people and this wouldn't be happening.

lol and you do? how many times a day do you get calls from the school cause your kid is stuck in a locker...honestly.

It's an opinion, yes. I'm not sure if it's valid or not. It's an idea with no expertise or experience to back it up. Whether it works in practice remains to be seen.

We decided to send our kids to fight camp instead of school. Education is for pussies.

Reading through some of Justin's posts reminded me... As a dad, I need to teach my kids to defend themselves. Bullies, in one sense, are only bullies because no one has stood up to them.

But DeyDurkie's right... teaching a little respect can go a long way.

My son's school - IMO - spends WAY too much time talking about it. They have assemblies, class meetings, counselors... Who in the world is being picked on THIS much!?! And if we ALL know it's happening, why not identify the offender and get rid of him! It's seems to me an ounce of prevention would rid us of the 2 tons of cure!

But then again, that's probably, the, old, school, in , me. (Comma,.)

So our upbringing gives us 0 credibility?
justincredible;1171584 wrote:I really don't understand bullying and I especially can't understand parents that know their kids are bullies and just don't give a shit. I mean, I guess at least with the kid doing the bullying he's getting the rush "being in power" or whatever. But the parents? I'm guessing they were just bullies in the past that never had someone stick up for themselves and turn the ass kicking on them.
I have a funny joke, but it'd probably be an infraction. Parents don't believe their "babies" are ever in the wrong.

Most people. Exactly. So therefore, you people you are saying "don't count" are just agreeing with the other half of parents. Basically, you are not accepting the opinion opposite of yours.
