Our first warning, that was quick. This thread wasn't a joke or a "please be good, guys" thing. Like I've said, the rules are getting enforced across the board. Keep this in the basement where it belongs. I don't think that is too much to ask.lhslep134;1169090 wrote:I hear he knows things -

You would think obvious sarcasm is obvious.LJ;1169092 wrote:You trying to get the first warning?
If you feel making an obvious joke is warning worthy, feel free to abuse your power. -

Yes, it was. And like we said, that's over. We're all on the same page now and we are serious about making this work this time.like_that;1169103 wrote:Yes, yes it was. -

I understand you are trying to clean everything up, but there is a fine line between cleaning everything up, and people just getting their feelings hurt over the internet.justincredible;1169104 wrote:Our first warning, that was quick. So we're not allowed to make obvious jokes? That's f*cking retarded.justincredible;1169104 wrote:Our first warning, that was quick. This thread wasn't a joke or a "please be good, guys" thing. Both of my jokes were clear sarcasm, Mooney's because he mentioned 3 times someone will likely/has responded like that, and the LJ one because you mentioned it in the OP.
WTF is wrong with you guys, that's actually a serious question not a joke. -
Commander of AwesomeJust asking Justin, where do people's signatures fall into the new rules?

Who has hurt feelings? It has nothing to do with feelings and everything to do with threads being hijacked over and over and over and over with the same things. -

I would say that signatures that have something that falls against the rules would need to be changed.Commander of Awesome;1169115 wrote:Just asking Justin, where do people's signatures fall into the new rules? -
lhslep134This is a legit question as well. IF LJ posts with a substantive or implicative Mr. Know it All attitude are we allowed to post such or would that be violating the "LJ knows everything" prohibition?
I agree saying it for the sake of saying it is the trolling you're trying to avoid, but I mean saying someone is being a Mr. Know It All is not something that would be unique to LJ -

I would answer your first question, but it seems as if i will get an infraction for honestly answering that questions, so I won't.LJ;1169118 wrote:Who has hurt feelings? It has a lot to do with feelings. A "LJ knows everything" comment does nothing to derail a thread. People lol at your expense, and move on with the discussion. Plenty of other reasons why threads get derailed. -

I would like to know this as well, because it will most likely happen.lhslep134;1169122 wrote:This is a legit question as well. IF LJ posts with a substantive or implicative Mr. Know it All attitude are we allowed to post such or would that be violating the "LJ knows everything" prohibition? -

Maybe the obvious jokes shouldn't go directly against the rules we just made a point to reiterate?lhslep134;1169114 wrote:So we're not allowed to make obvious jokes? That's f*cking retarded.

As for what's wrong with me, I'm not 100% sure. I'd imagine a lot of it has to do with the lack of a relationship with my father. -
Mooney44CardsWhile we're at it, could we crack down on the dragging someone's choice of favorite teams into a conversation that has nothing to do with it? I've had multiple times where I've experienced "LOL this coming from a Mooney fan" or "A Notre Dame fan WOULD say that" has been lobbed as some sort of argument against me when its not even a discussion about sports. I realize I'm kind of asking for it with my username, but I've had this thing on this site from its inception, and on other sites since 2002, so its a bit late for that.

Commander of AwesomeI think excessive whining should be an infractionable offense as well.

You can think whatever you want. Guess I am being a "know it all" for knowing my own feelings. If you dont like what i bring on certain topics, ignore me. If I am wrong, prove me wrong. Goes with all posters towards others. -

If it's an obvious joke then which of these did it violate?justincredible;1169127 wrote:Maybe the obvious jokes shouldn't go directly against the rules we just made a point to reiterate?
These rules apply to ALL forums:- No personal attacks or unwarranted name-calling. Just because someone has a different opinion doesn't mean they're an idiot.
- Do not continually harass other members (this includes moderators).
- Do not aggressively troll a thread with the sole purpose of derailing it.
- Do not reveal anyone's identity.
- No swearing in thread titles.
- No pornography or gore.
You penalized me without me breaking a rule. Saying LJ knows things is a true statement, if it were not true he would have an IQ of 0. I didn't say he knew everything and I didn't call him an expert of anything. As for the response to Mooney, he invited it by mentioning it within his post multiple times. It was a good post, but my response did not break any of your newly established rules. -
