I agree. I wasn't excusing the 4 day hold. Just that the comment didn't really make sense since speeding wouldn't have much affect on him.FatHobbit;1160123 wrote:Pot doesn't usually land you in a holding cell for four days with no food or water. Just sayin -

Maybe all the bong water is clouding your judgement. -

I'm pretty sure there are probably laws on the books that don't allow for law enforcement to let people rot in a cell without food or water.WebFire;1160122 wrote:Whether you agree with a law or not, it is still a law until it is not. -

if you told me i had to go 4 days without water or food and then i could win a multi million dollar law suit against the gov't i'm game. Seriously, how do you get caught in a drug raid, you have to be pretty fucking stupid. Now he'll make out pretty well, no sympathy.justincredible;1160120 wrote:Wow, I can't believe people are fine with someone essentially being left in their cell to die for a non-violent crime. I agree with that, but the penalties must fit the crime. Just because he broke a law doesn't mean all bets are off.WebFire;1160122 wrote:Whether you agree with a law or not, it is still a law until it is not. -

Most likely.justincredible;1160127 wrote:I'm pretty sure there are probably laws on the books that don't allow for law enforcement to let people rot in a cell without food or water. -

Right. I wasn't addressing that part.FatHobbit;1160130 wrote:I agree with that, but the penalties must fit the crime. Just because he broke a law doesn't mean all bets are off. -
justincredibleI'm glad my brother-in-law and his friend that were arrested the night of my bachelor party for public intox weren't left to die in their cell. According to a few on here it would've been justified, I guess.

I agree with this. If he were more than a pot smoker most people wouldn't give a crap.Raw Dawgin' it;1160118 wrote:The the crime totally does matter - i think because people thing pot should be legal there is some outrage, if he were a dealer or gang muscle no one would care, IMO
Me too. But they still fucked up big time.Raw Dawgin' it;1160129 wrote:if you told me i had to go 4 days without water or food and then i could win a multi million dollar law suit against the gov't i'm game. -

drunk in public < Smoking drugs and being caught in a drug raid. -
THE4RINGZ
Agreed. however, this four day isolation wasn't his punishment, he wasn't sentenced to this. Someone locked him away and forgot about him. I think too many people are overthinking what really happened here.FatHobbit;1160130 wrote:I agree with that, but the penalties must fit the crime. DeyDurkie5"don't do the crime if you can't do the time"
So the time for smoking pot is in jail for 4 days with no food or water and being left to die? You guys are retarded if you think that. -
justincredible
Nope, both offenses can land you in a cell.Raw Dawgin' it;1160135 wrote:LOL that's pretty funny.

You're right, it wasn't his punishment. It was negligence that was, apparently, okay.THE4RINGZ;1160137 wrote:Agreed. however, this four day isolation wasn't his punishment, he wasn't sentenced to this. Agents stormed in at 9 a.m. the next day and swept him up as one of nine suspects in a raid that netted 18,000 ecstasy pills, other drugs and weapons. -

THANK YOU...it's amazing that some people on here actually think that's all this kid was in jail for :rolleyes:FatHobbit;1160123 wrote:Pot doesn't usually land you in a holding cell for four days with no food or water. Just sayin -

Some people are saying it was excessive because others are saying don't do the crime if you can't do the time.THE4RINGZ;1160137 wrote:Agreed. however, this four day isolation wasn't his punishment, he wasn't sentenced to this. Exactly. It's 100% the DEA's fault this happened. You/rawdawg were trying to argue otherwise. Which is just dumb.THE4RINGZ;1160143 wrote:Again, he wasn't sentenced to four days in jail. -

wildcats20Where does that say anything about him having ANY of that?
He wasn't charged with anything. He should have been released right away and he wasn't. Instead they "forgot" about him and let him sit in a cell for 4 days. -
justincredibleCriminals still have basic rights, correct? Especially those who haven't been charged with anything. I'm not wrong on this, am I?

Doesn't matter, both can land you in a cell which you can be forgot about and left for four days.Raw Dawgin' it;1160152 wrote:Felony > Misdemeanor -

FatHobbitThe agents didn't charge him criminally and even told him they would drive him home, but apparently forgot about him in a holding cell, where he languished for days.
Doesn't sound like he was involved with more than pot.
