Look at the Martin story. A black man attacks a hispanic man, and the hispanic man is called white and a racist. All you need to know.Gblock;1129063 wrote:frist of all QQ
racism against whites?? cmon man who is the victim here? secondly it sounds great if we could treat everyone equally and the world worked like that and someday maybe it will but its not there yet. not that i totally disagree with your opinion i just dont think were ready for it yet. and you keep talking about blacks crying about racism but you are the only one crying about it all the time...let it go you are focusing on a very small part of the problem. i mean how many students do you imagine are taking scholarships from whites?? do you have a specific number in mind?
I don't have the answer to your question, and I never made the claim, so you can find that information yourself. -
ManO'WarThere is a difference between race and nationality.
You can be black and be irish, italian, or whatever, but you cant be white and be black. -
rmolin73
Why not? Who determines this?ManO'War;1129080 wrote:There is a difference between race and nationality.

ManO'WarIf youre from Ireland then youre irish...italy then youre italian...etc..
Do you really not understand the difference?? -

Then show me the scholarship for "black" students. Keep in mind...using your criteria "African-American" doesn't mean black, because you can be white and have an African-American nationality.ManO'War;1129080 wrote:There is a difference between race and nationality.

Do you not understand where I'm coming from? Why can't you be both black and white? Who made the definition of that? Your answer will put things in perspective.ManO'War;1129085 wrote:If youre from Ireland then youre irish...italy then youre italian...etc..

Gblockthere are scholarships for people from appalaccia(sp) that go to i would say 99 percent whites. however since i am half black and half white and from west virginia i recieved some book money back in the day. i also recieved some book money for being poor and black. so i guess you can be black and white

If you are mixed African-American and Caucasisn...you can apply and be considered for any scholarship that is African-American only and those that are open to all races.rmolin73;1129089 wrote:Do you not understand where I'm coming from? If you are caucasian....you will nto be considered for an African-American only scholarship.
Do you see where I am coming from? -
rmolin73Yet you all haven't answered the main question.

And if you are 100% black you will not be considered for an Irish heritage or Italian heritage only scholarships.wkfan;1129093 wrote:If you are mixed African-American and Caucasisn...you can apply and be considered for any scholarship that is African-American only and those that are open to all races.

Yes I do...and I never disputed your claim. I also think this is wrong, but it is not racist.sherm03;1129098 wrote:And if you are 100% black you will not be considered for an Irish heritage or Italian heritage only scholarships.

I'm sure.rmolin73;1129101 wrote:Are you sure or are you just guessing? -

So then if Irish-heritage scholarships and Italian-heritage scholarships aren't racist (your words)...then scholarships available for African-Americans are also not racist.wkfan;1129102 wrote:Yes I do...and I never disputed your claim. I also think this is wrong, but it is not racist.
That's the only logical reasoning. You can't claim one is racist and the others are not. -
derek bomaraffirmative action by definition is racist. It's giving preferential treatment to a stated race, while disallowing it for others. Whatever the reasons for it (good or bad), the act itself is racist.

If disqualification is based on race....it is racist.sherm03;1129105 wrote:So then if Irish-heritage scholarships and Italian-heritage scholarships aren't racist (your words)...then scholarships available for African-Americans are also not racist.

if disqualification is based on nationality...it is not racist. (would it be nationality-ist??)
See the difference? Both are still wrong..... -
ManO'WarScientists determined the races.
Mulatto is a term for mixed races. -
ManO'WarYou can be 100% black and be 100% Irish....irish is a nationality not a race!!!

Are you sure there pal. It's deeper than just that and in America southern conservative whites aren't scientists.ManO'War;1129117 wrote:Scientists determined the races.

But African-American is technically a nationality, not a race then. So scholarships set up for only African-American students are not racist.ManO'War;1129121 wrote:You can be 100% black and be 100% Irish....irish is a nationality not a race!!! -

It is considered a race in this county by the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission). They require businesses to track and monitor 'progress' for minorities and women in terms of applicants for jobs, promotions and a whole host of other statistics vs. caucasian workers.sherm03;1129139 wrote:But African-American is technically a nationality, not a race then. I'm gonna have to tape my eyes to look slanty or something. Because I'd rather be in Freaky Deeky SexLand than anywhere else.dwccrew;1128484 wrote:The solution to racism is simple. Send all the blacks back to Africa, Mexicans to Mexico, Cubans to Cuba, Puerto Ricans to Puerto Rico, Asians to Freaky Deeky SexLand and Arabs to Durka Durkastan. No more racism, problem solved.
