    No, on my couch. Why?

Now onto car insurance. I went with Progressive, Eric, Allstate, Nationwide and Geico.

Nationwide and Geico are way cheaper than everyone else.

    Anyone have experience with Geico?

We have Allstate and have no complaints. I'd check out esurance. Not only do they have Jim from The Office as their voice over actor, they are backed by Allstate. Not sure how their rates stack up, but they claim to be pretty cheap.

State Farm was far and away the cheapest for me. They were also wonderful when I got into an accident shortly after xmas.

Just dropped Nationwide for Progressive. Fuck Nationwide.

I tried State Farm too. Their "basic" package was $111. Geico is best so far at about $51/month.

I was blown away by how much lower they were that I went back and double-checked my options to make sure I did everything right.

Yup. They use a gecco with a British-English accent in their commercial.

Geico also stands for Government Employee insurance company. Not sure what year they became a public insurance co.

Also- If you own a house, I'd recommend getting your home owners and car insurance through the same company. Usually cheaper.

Be careful. The companies that offer minimum coverage leave you open to law suites that can take what you own, or draw from your pay checks if the court finds that you did more damage that what you are covered for.

I drove one of those when My Mitsubishi needed a spot touched up. Nice car I did not care for the little man in the console though.

assuming he did not pay in cash, he is going to have to have full coverage.

There are companies that offer state-minimum coverage. If I drive into a Porsche and total it, state-minimum coverage ain't gonna cover it.

That is correct but if you take a loan you must have full coverage.

Strangely enough, that happened to me too. I pay $60 a month though.

I don't really have any "experience" with them, because I've never been in an accident or had to file a claim, but they were 15-20 bucks cheaper than anyone else I checked, and I looked into 6-7 different companies.

The state minimum vs. Porsche point you brought up was another good thing about leasing though. Had to up the insurance minimums to 100/300/50 as a requirement for the lease, but gap coverage is built into the lease at no charge, at least through Hyundai, so if I total my car I won't be paying shit out of pocket. I don't know how it applies to other drivers, but I don't intend to smash into anyone.

Yeah, they talked me into ~60 a month when I did my insurance tonight. I'm curious if my financing requires a tier that high. I think I'm at 50/100/25 or something
