I submitted my tax return and printed it out with my first numbers on it. Submitted it to the govt., etc. AFTER it was submitted, I go back to do Indiana taxes, and THEN it went to $39. My question is, since I already submitted it with the original numbers ($6,600/$280) will they not take those?jmog;1087855 wrote:Call them, you screwed it up pretty good. -
WebFireI think the advice you quoted is best.

I wouldnt even bother doing state taxes on turbotax. Just go to the Indiana tax site and you should be able to do it for free on there. I know that is what I lways have done for Ohio. Do federal free on turbo, then go to OHio's site to do for free. I do school tax by hand myself and same with town tax.ernest_t_bass;1087861 wrote:I submitted my tax return and printed it out with my first numbers on it. LOL. I'm not looking for advice. It's done submitted. I'll just wait and see which is put in my direct deposit.WebFire;1087957 wrote:I think the advice you quoted is best. -

I'm not going through the state website to input all deductions, etc. TurboTax is easy, I do it once, and it compiles it.thavoice;1087962 wrote:I wouldnt even bother doing state taxes on turbotax. I misunderstood what you meant when you said it went to 39. I thought ya meant it went from being free to charging you 39 for it after you logged back in.ernest_t_bass;1087967 wrote:I'm not going through the state website to input all deductions, etc. TurboTax is easy, I do it once, and it compiles it.
I usually do the free version of it for years and years, but this year I bought a house and wanted to try and maximize the deductions so I paid a little bit for it...I was a little bit surprised they added on another fee at the end. -

Both ways? Tell me if I'm due more? I can see them telling me if I don't get as much, but I can't see them telling me, "hey, here's some more money, since you fucked up."ZWICK 4 PREZ;1087976 wrote:The IRS will tell you if it's wrong. -

and even if it isn't a big deal, or easily fixable, it's really not a road you want to go down, trust me -

But there was advice given and I think you should take it.ernest_t_bass;1087966 wrote:LOL. I'm not looking for advice. It's done submitted. I'll just wait and see which is put in my direct deposit.
Seriously though, I'd call TT and ask them rather than just waiting it out. -

dude.....turbo tax doesnt make sure the numbers you enter are correct. U can put any numbers in there and turbo tax will figure it out. Just because they make the calculations doesnt mean the amounts you put in are the correct amounts.ernest_t_bass;1088038 wrote:All I did was input numbers... and they checked out! -

I made a mistake once and the IRS just adjusted it and that was the end of it.chicago510;1088002 wrote:Lulz, enjoy the slammer ETB. -

the difference is that ETB knows something isnt right, where you didnt.Skyhook79;1088043 wrote:I made a mistake once and the IRS just adjusted it and that was the end of it. -
dwccrewIf ETB did not knowingly falsify his taxes, they'll just adjust them and that will be all. Now, if he knowingly submitted a falsified return, that = butt secks in prison.

True but proving "willfully" is pretty tough to do and besides lets be honest here ETB is hardly someone the IRS wants to waste their time on.dwccrew;1088074 wrote:If ETB did not knowingly falsify his taxes, they'll just adjust them and that will be all.
