IliketurtlesS&L I'd say $750 is probably about right maybe a little more but no much.

Ya'll bros need to adjust your witholdings.ernest_t_bass;1086099 wrote:$6,600 federal. About $550 bt Ohio and Indiana. About $175 SD.
Ernest you could be brining home an extra $610/month. Using that on hooker, blow and lime powder is a better ROI than letting the .gov hang onto it. -
McFly1955We are getting around $1500 back and have a 2nd baby on the way this year...I adjusted my allowances at work today...Ideally I'd like to owe zero and get back zero.

Laley23Ill be paying the IRS. Probably hold out as long as possible. This part of the year sucks, but I love have all my paycheck at my disposal during the year.

Why exactly? You can earn some cash on $7000 in principal if you know anything about finance. Even if you don't, let it sit in a shoebox so that uncle sam isn't screwing you over.ernest_t_bass;1086120 wrote:I like it better this way. -

I never understood why people enjoyed letting the government hold on to their money with no interest being earned. Maybe you could let me know why you prefer that to you managing your own money and investing it into something worthwhile?ernest_t_bass;1086120 wrote:I like it better this way. -

Because the .gov is a poor people's savings acct. It's for people who cannot manage their own money. This is evidenced by those same people saying that they like getting a big return going out and blowing it all on stupid shit.dwccrew;1086193 wrote:I never understood why people enjoyed letting the government hold on to their money with no interest being earned. I just sell my unused money on my food stamp card to buy the stupid shit I want. Wish others would do the same.LJ;1086202 wrote:Because the .gov is a poor people's savings acct. It sucks that you owe less taxes?j_crazy;1086029 wrote:I'm curious what we get/owe. Got like 1800 last year. I didn't change anything, but we had another kid and tons of medical expenses for his surgery so we might get a lot more back. Which sucks. -

Thanks
I keep $35 extra in federal out each check ($70 a month) for my other job teaching at the local jail....but I barely worked there this year (job doesn't take any taxes)....made return a bit larger. -

Pretty sure he meant it sucks he's getting more back because that means he overpaid more for the year. Have you not followed the previous posts? Honest question.WebFire;1086218 wrote:It sucks that you owe less taxes? -

I took it as it sucks he's getting more money back at the expense of his kid's surgery. But I could be 150% wrong loldwccrew;1086237 wrote:Pretty sure he meant it sucks he's getting more back because that means he overpaid more for the year. Have you not followed the previous posts? I actually thought that as well, but wasn't real sure either. Both reasons suck, but the kid thing sucks infinity times more.SportsAndLady;1086251 wrote:I took it as it sucks he's getting more money back at the expense of his kid's surgery. But I could be 150% wrong lol -
Commander of AwesomeI got back $2 from fed (almost perfect!) and $98 from local. Overall pretty close to my hope of $0.

justincredibleFilling jointly turbotax says we're going to owe about $1300 between state and fed. We are going to see what filing separately will do overall. She put in her info and it says she'd get back $111. Before I put her info to file jointly I was set to get $260 back.

Commander of AwesomeJustin, if your company has a payroll office or perhaps an HR if not payroll, I'd suggest talking to them, should be able to avoid owing $1,300 if you're filed correctly through them. Just a thought. Or don't I really don't give a shit.
