Rick's restoration. Anyone watch?
-
thavoiceSpinoff from Pawn Stars as they would bring stuff to him to redo.
Always seems to do some amazing stuff to the items he is brought.
I havent seen Rick from Pawn Stars bring stuff there lately...I wonder if it is because he has his own show or what?
It is an OK show, but anyone ever get the impression that his 'customers' always have a big case of sticker shock when he gives him the estimate and price? -
Commander of AwesomeThis the same as American Restoration?
If so then yes, I watch it when I catch it on. -
thavoiceYEah...same show. I always call it the wrong name.
BUt anyways........wanna see the def of sticker shock then watch his clients faces! LIke last night he bought two items for $200 bucks, and wanted $5500 out of them. I do realize there are parts and labor and such but man....how much does it really cost to do all of that?
BUT....if he can get that from people then more power to him! Gotta charge what you can get out of them and if he is balls to the wall busy then it doesnt really matter! -
justincredibleNever heard of it, but I have watched Pawn Stars a few times.
What kind of things does he restore? Cars or other stuff? -
Commander of AwesomeEverything. He'll restore just about anything.

I didn't think he bought stuff from people. I've watched a few episodes, and people just brought him stuff they wanted restored for themselves. It's expensive to restore stuff like that, because you want to use as many original parts as possible, and those can be difficult and expensive to find.thavoice;1058576 wrote:YEah...same show. He does both, he has customers that bring him their crud and he'll buy things (usually on the cheap) that he'll restore and try to flip. Seems to do a lot of old vending machines/games and little rides that were out in front of grocery stores in the 50s.se-alum;1058604 wrote:I didn't think he bought stuff from people. ernest_t_bassWon't he go out sometimes and try to rummage through junk to try to find something to restore, like they do on American Pickers?
Anyone watch "The Pick, The Pawn, & The Restoration?" -
thavoice
Last night he bought two items at a junk yard for 200 bucks and brought them to a car show to try and sell them. It was an old time windshield wiper metal display and also an old time oil can display that woulda been in garages.se-alum;1058604 wrote:I didn't think he bought stuff from people. At the car show he gave his whole story to a few guys, one which was an old gas station operator from back in the day. Rick wanted $5500 for the two items that he purchased for 200 and the guy offered 2500 and they didnt make a sale.
He wanted to buy and restore some things for "cheap" so others could afford it but got pissed at his son for tearing it down too much and putting too much time and $$ into it. -
