Gas/Oil eastern Ohio boom
-
DoverbuckI was listening to local financial anylist Bob Gorgas of Edward Jones, He said Eastern Ohio will have more millionaires than anywhere else in the U.S.A. as a result of the boom.
A well drilled in Harrison county is producing 9.5 million c.f. per day or 1425 barrels of natural gas liquids or 3010 barrells of oil equivalent.,2 wells drilled in Carroll county are producing similar numbers. 1 well has been drilled in Tusc county with a 2nd started, more to come. -
believerLet's hope this boom is sustained and becomes the single biggest economic benefit to eastern Ohio in history. The state needs it and eastern Ohio in particular needs it.

Bob Gorgas is a moron then. Has be ever heard of New York City? -

What? He must not be very familiar with other areas of this country.Doverbuck;1033050 wrote:... He said Eastern Ohio will have more millionaires than anywhere else in the U.S.A. as a result of the boom.

DoverbuckBob Gorgas is pretty well respected and has been at his job for decades, not talking about a fly by nighter.
How many NYC millionaires officially call NYC home as opposed to having a home in NYC?
Honestly if that statement is 100% wrong we are still facing some changing times, for the better. -

Such changes can be certainly be made aware to us by a "well respected person" in a more accurate way than exaggerated claims of volume of individual wealth compared to other areas.Doverbuck;1033072 wrote:Bob Gorgas is pretty well respected and has been at his job for decades, not talking about a fly by nighter.

I hope you're not trying to defend the statement. Will it be a boom for the economy? Surely. But I doubt many of these "millionaires" call eastern Ohio home.Doverbuck;1033072 wrote:Bob Gorgas is pretty well respected and has been at his job for decades, not talking about a fly by nighter.

thedynasty1998Also, I would imagine he said most millionaires in Ohio, and even that statement would be a stretch.

wes_mantoothEven though the up front money is peanuts compared to what the actual drilling royalties will bring, I already know two families that are now millionaires because of the size of their farms. This is def the best thing to ever happen to this part of the state.

Bullshit. It's going to be the end of us. Don't you know this is what's causing all the earthquakes in the Y'town area?wes_mantooth;1033091 wrote:Even though the up front money is peanuts compared to what the actual drilling royalties will bring, I already know two families that are now millionaires because of the size of their farms. ThinthickbigredI just want to see more jobs produced and satalite businesses. Then better infrastructure such as roads, and better schools and, just a better overall look in the community . Thats when the reality will really hit

YtowngirlinflaHmmm they start drilling and NE Ohio sees more earthquakes then ever. I just hope something serious doesn't happen in Ytown since it seems the earthquakes keep hitting close by.

There are some very real concerns with drilling/earthquake linkage. If they can get it figured out and make it safe, it could be a boon for NE Ohio.Ytowngirlinfla;1033105 wrote:Hmmm they start drilling and NE Ohio sees more earthquakes then ever. Bullshit propaganda from the loony left. Well...OK maybe there's a link but let's not jump to conclusions just yet.fan_from_texas;1033248 wrote:There are some very real concerns with drilling/earthquake linkage. If they can get it figured out and make it safe, it could be a boon for NE Ohio.
The environmentalist nut jobs who want us all to drive horse & buggies will no doubt see the linkage between the earthquakes and the drilling. I want to see a lot more proof than theory, guessing, and assumption.
Let's stop shooting ourselves in the foot and wean ourselves off sources like the Sharia Freaks in Iran and the Middle East.

I'm not jumping to conclusions, and you're either dishonest, misinformed, or uninformed if you write off these concerns without admitting that there are serious potential issues. I'm all for shale drilling, but it's important to be responsible about it, and there's real concern about drilling resulting in dramatically increased seismic activity. Let's continue to advance, but be aware of the issues and make sure the trade-offs are worth it.believer;1033298 wrote:Bull**** propaganda from the loony left.
