Who wants to pitch in?
-
thavoiceDayton Daily News had an article today about the Trotwood Madison team who won a state football championship. The article was titled something like 'What is a championship without a ring?'.
The school is asking for donations from businesses, and setting up donation jars and such at local places to raise money to pay for the $146 dollar rings they want for the players.
Anyone interested in pitching in to help? -
ytownfootballno.

GoChiefsAren't they the ones everyone said was acting like a bunch of thugs and hooligans after they won the game?
Either way, no. -

Yes. A number of them took off their shoulder pads, had them strewn about the field, before they even went through the handshake line and then partied in the end zone and danced like they were at a rave with the band.GoChiefs;1031612 wrote:Aren't they the ones everyone said was acting like a bunch of thugs and hooligans after they won the game?

Come on guys. They DESERVE rings and it is our responsibility to make sure it happens for them! -
justincredibleI am not interested.
Actually, I'll pitch in for a couple rings if they use the OC logo on the side of their helmets next season. -
wes_mantoothHell no.
I hate kids anyhow. -

SonofanumpI thought this thread was going to be the OP asking for help moving out of his house into an apartment.

said_aouitaOnly a loser like 609 would actually wear a state championship ring.
Who cares, you' wouldn't even qualify in most states. -

I could give two shits if a random football team doesn't get rings. and it certainly isn't my responsibility for anything they do/need.thavoice;1031614 wrote:Yes. In essence, go fuck yourself and that team -
sleeperI lol'd. You know these guys are just going to sell the rings for weed or tattoos. Well, at least the black guys.

I watched the game, and afterwards those punks were acting like a bunch of baffoons.thavoice;1031599 wrote:Dayton Daily News had an article today about the Trotwood Madison team who won a state football championship. The article was titled something like 'What is a championship without a ring?'.

TM and Douglas are one of the dirtiest programs in the state and I am surprised he still has a job.
In the past he has been reprimanded and suspended a number of time.
--Suspended 4 games for criticizing officials.
--Suspended for recruiting and eligibility issues.
He also has been reprimanded by the school for a few things as well.
--Approaching a teacher to change a grade for a student-athlete
--Letting non registered students practice with the team (to me that sounds like he was allowing tryouts for his team for non students)
--he was warned repeatedly by the school about recruiting practices
--reprimanded for tardiness and improper use of sick leave.
Hope This Helps -
Gardens35I won't be pitching in to help buy championship rings for Trotwood Madison.

said_aouitaWhy can't the parents afford to buy their own kids rings, if so important?
I did find it interesting, Trotwood is predominantly African American. -

Dude, that was almost my exact post a number of weeks/months ago about the TM program!
Many of you must have had your sarcasm meter turned off when you read this thread.
Of course I think this is complete BS. The schools wants $15,000 dollars to buy 100 rings for the players, administrators and cheerleaders.
Seriously. Administrators cannot buy their own? Why do cheerleaders need them? Why not the band? I am no band geek, but a band has more to do with the football experience than a cheerleader does.
I come from an area where there are TONS of state champions. Hell, just my family alone has played in state 6 times with I think 3 titles.
In checking around if the teams in our league win state the players buy their rings themselves. Some players opt out and dont buy them for a number of reasons. I never got any for the two I won, but then again I dont think that was even the 'Tradition' back then.
I just find it absolutely idiotic foro the school to ask the local businesses and putting out cans for donations. Then you have a hack from the DDN write an article about it promoting the idiotic idea.
I watched the game, their RB was unstoppable, and they seemd to conduct themselves just fine, until the game was over when they started to act like a bunch of fools.
150 bucks a ring is what they are getting at.........i bet many of those players are all decked out with cell phones, electronics and such and their parents wont shell out $$$ for rings? I dont think their community involvment is even that great. Our DV game attendance was about the same attendance as their game so their fans must not care.
anyways.........T-M.....you guys earn the "C'mom man" award of the year. -

It really is a wonder how he still has his job with his infractions and such. I would have to say for a couple of reasons. 1. His name. He is big name who played in the NFL.
2. Have to wonder who would want to take that job. I forget his normal title at the school, but it it was along the lines of a job that I best most woudlnt want either.
