They sue companies that have no infringing property against them (the last link is hilarious as the company owner used to be an attorney so responded with a scathing and funny letter)

Their cables are not better than others and cost far more.

If you want quality cables for a reasonable price (in fact the best price you will find anywhere and the place audio/videophiles buy their cables from) then you need to go to Monoprice.com

I'll stick with monster cables. You go with what you want and we all will be happy.

Thanks for the good reading material.

Could you please elaborate why? I'm really confused.

I like their cables. I have never had any problems with their cables and I have had problems with cables in the past. Also I never have to buy a new HDMI cable again

    Please read number 2.

My question is "did you buy shitty cables in the past?" You mentioned Dynex, a shit brand, so I'm going to assume yes. I think you then said "I'm going to buy a quality product now" and went to the store and bought the most expensive cable and/or the cable the Best Buy dude suggested. You got a decent cable because the problem is not that Monster cable necessarily makes shitty products. It's that they make products that are not better quality than what is available elsewhere for far, far less money. And these other companies aren't nearly as evil as Monster cable if you care about that when shopping (some don't in which case you should only be concerned with quality and cost, which Monster fails on. Cost especially).

Not trying to argue with you, just trying to help out. Please don't continue to buy their products or at least look at other brands unless you really don't care about your money (in that case send some my way or to a charity *looks in sig*).

Did alot of research on cables. No I never owned a Dynex cable nor will I ever own one. I have used Rocketfish and others but they don't hold up like a monster cable in my eyes. I'll continue using what I believe is the best cable on the market.

Just one point to make here that has not been brought up...and that is to make sure you will be comfortable with the TV mounted above the fireplace. Depending on the room, often mouinting it there can make for an uncomfortable viewing angle. Tv's are best mounted at eye level. JMHO.

It might be worth trying this before spending all that money...Put a smaller TV mounted on a stand on your mantle piece and try watching TV there for a day or two.

Fair enough, but you clearly didn't consult the people who know what they are talking about (AVS forums, those dudes are the guys with crazy setups who know how to fine tune their systems and see and hear minute differences in sound and picture quality).

But yeah whatever, it's your money.

And none of them mentioned Monoprice? I find that shocking as you can't go to an audio-visual forum without someone mentioning them.

I seem like a rep for them but it'd be like someone looking for an online retailer and no one mentioning Amazon.

Does anyone think LED looks too much like a CPU monitor and not rich enough colors?
