I'm hoping you only limit this attitude to televisions and you don't say the same about food, working out, jobs, etc. (IE: I don't really need quality).UANyg;988591 wrote:In my opinion from my experience, unless you are a huge TV geek (really into high quality, nerdy about resolution and stuff), the price is the best way of choosing. I have an Insignia LCD which is some cheaper TV from Best Buy. It is a 32", 1080p resolution and looks great. Are there better TV's out there? Yes. Any that I would actually notice big differences (besides size)? Nope.
I got a 40 inch Samsung LED LCD on Friday and it's really nice. $499 was a decent price to pay as well. -
Tiger2003Belly go with the Samsung 55 inch 8000 series. It is one of the best if not the best TV on the market. 1080p 240 HZ. I have one in the living room and I love it. Great for watching sports because it has the 240 HZ compared to the 120 HZ.

Again Thank you I will look into that modelTiger2003;990963 wrote:Belly go with the Samsung 55 inch 8000 series. It is one of the best if not the best TV on the market. 1080p 240 HZ. A little different don't ya think...when comparing a job vs, a TV. The quality of a TV is completely unimportant vs the quality of a career. I would take longevity/reliability over quality, within reason, every time when it comes to something as unimportant as a TV.I Wear Pants;990844 wrote:I'm hoping you only limit this attitude to televisions and you don't say the same about food, working out, jobs, etc. (IE: I don't really need quality).

The 7000 is a waste. If your willing to pay for the 7000 then just buck up and pay the extra amount for the 8000. -
Tiger2003Belly did you go with the consultation from Best Buy?

See it's $2400 at Amazon rather than $2700 at BB. -

Yes I did ... They will be here in 20 minutesTiger2003;991679 wrote:Belly did you go with the consultation from Best Buy? -
Belly35WTF about 3 hours ago I finish with the </SPAN>consultation from Best Buy</SPAN>
Note: Samsung 7000 and 8000 (8000 is wireless computer w/ remote as the key board to be able surf the web on the TV) (7000 is hard wire laptop computer to TV)</SPAN>
I like to idea of the 8000 but not sure I would really use it… ????</SPAN>
What started as a simple 55 Samsung TV mounted over the fireplace is now the following:</SPAN>
Have to get rid of my present surround sound system and speakers (4ohm) and buy a “NEW” Surround Sound up graded to 8ohm that will work with the “NEW” DVD system I’ll have to get so the quality of the older VHS and CD movies on my “NEW” 55 Samsung will be of same same quality as viewing cable and be in surround sound.</SPAN>
New TV, Surround Sound, Speakers, DVD Player, Mounting Bracket and wiring and labor </SPAN>
WOW I’m glad this guy showed up… </SPAN> -

Yah they do great work. You will be happy with what they do. So what TV did you go with? The 7000 or 8000? -
I Wear PantsTiger, you've got to be fucking kidding me. No one has ever been satisfied with Geek Squad. Because even when they do a good job they charge you 234823932 times more than it should be.

You know you could have paid the neighborhood geek 10x less to do the same work right?Tiger2003;995752 wrote:.

I don't really have a problem with their installation services besides the price. So if you're cool with it do what you want.
But from what I've experienced their salesmen are laughably uneducated or car salesmanlike in their attempt to get you to purchase shit you don't need.
Fucker that went to Belly's house probably advised him to get Monster cable as well. Which is beyond retarded. -

Also since I only paid $200 for the Mount and them to come mount it I would not say that I overpaid.
Why is Monster cable bad please explain? -
I Wear PantsOh Jesus Christ.
Do you want the links on how their cables are no better than any other? (Including a wire coat hanger)
Or the ones on how they are insanely, insanely overpriced?
Or the ones on the ridiculous bullylike lawsuits of anyone that has "monster" in their business name (a mini golf place for example)? -
Tiger2003Yes I would like the link. I always buy monster cables like them better than a Dynex or anything else you can buy.
