As a heavy COD player, I think the game is nothing like COD at all. In fact, if you play it like COD, you will be frustrated.I Wear Pants;949210 wrote:I feel the opposite. It probably feels more COD right now because there are tons of COD players who don't know how to play BF playing right now. After MW3 comes out I think this problem will lesson as those sorts of players will migrate to that/have enough time to learn how to play. -
sportchamppsYou can't run and gun but it's way more like cod the previous bfs. I can throw on a scar with a red dot and drop 6 guys in a building in two clips unlike bf2 where you couldn't do that. In rush I can jump in a jeep and make it to the bomb points before the defenders in about 1/2 the levels I've only played 8 hours and am a level 19. They have made it where 1 or 2 guys can literally win a game by themselves.

lhslep134Heavy COD player, played BF3 for first time last night.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, but in all honesty I wouldn't buy it over COD. The multiplayer in BF3 feels like an integrated storyline, which is cool, and definitely a good change from COD, but I prefer the run and gun of COD multiplayer. -

I think most do. That's why COD continues to outsell. However, this time I really took the time to understand the game, and I am really enjoying it.lhslep134;949418 wrote:Heavy COD player, played BF3 for first time last night.

Hb31187Are there still issues with the servers? I know a few of my friends who were huge BF enthusiasts got it the first night and have done nothing but bitch about EA's servers.
-
stroupsI haven't had any problems the last 2 days but there were issues Tuesday when it was released and I got kicked off a couple of times since then.

In every BF game they do this shit from time to time not to mention the glitches and general inept party and matchmaking systems. Halo 2 was the definitive formula for communication online with consoles minus the party chat system Microsoft has in place now and yet EA still doesn't find the time to even match the standards of a game from 2004. This is my only complaint about the game.Hb31187;949513 wrote:Are there still issues with the servers? I Wear PantsTo be fair Bungie outclasses everyone when it comes to their net code and it's not even close.

wes_mantoothThe single player mode gets destroyed by all the reviewers....but they say the multiplayer makes up for it.
I haven't followed much about this game, but what is the HD texture pack? Is an add on that costs and is it worth it? -

It's free comes on the disc. When you first play the game at the start screen it pops up and asks if you want to install the HD texture pack. It's 2gb so make sure you have room on your HD but it is definitely worth it. Game looks pretty bad without it.wes_mantooth;949755 wrote:The single player mode gets destroyed by all the reviewers....but they say the multiplayer makes up for it.

The single player is just bland. But that's never what Battlefield has been about. -
sportchamppsI will say the graphics are awesome. The servers are always bad the first week but ea gets their shit corrected fast. They fix glitches and nerf guns 100 x faster then cod

NYFan54Beat the (short) campaign, servers were shit, so I returned it. Pretty much what everyone else is saying

i agree about the maps. but it was fun being engaged in a stalemate and being able to bring up an armored vehicle to plow through everyone.WebFire;949143 wrote:MoH multiplayer was very good. The problem, IMO, was that it limited to a few maps and the same games. After awhile you became bored with it. -

I bought it the 3rd day it was out and haven't had any server issues. Unless you are referring to something other than connecting.NYFan54;950501 wrote:Beat the (short) campaign, servers were shit, so I returned it. Pretty much what everyone else is saying -

hoops23Every COD I've bought has had server issues for at least the first few days.
I had some issues the first night on BF3 where I'd "lose connection", but since then it's been flawless.
The more I play this game, the more I'm loving it.
Last night I played a match on Caspian Border and it was the best teamwork I've seen. We completely dominated the match. It was hilarious because one squad just kept setting up ambushes. -
Glory Days
and i am sure the other team bitched about campers hahahahoops23;951256 wrote:Every COD I've bought has had server issues for at least the first few days.

Ha, possibly, but they weren't really "camping"... They moved from spot to spot, laid in wait for an enemy to come by then gang raped him.Glory Days;951278 wrote:and i am sure the other team bitched about campers hahaha -
WebFireI am loving this game more with every match myself. The teamwork aspect is something that cannot be matched in COD.

hoops23Pretty tense situations when you're sneaking into enemy territory and you have to lay prone next to a broken down vehicle as a tank and a couple enemies come strolling by.
Also had a hell of a fire fight on that highway level. It seemed like every person from each team was fighting for control over the same flag. -
Glory Dayspicked it up early today. got almost 2 hours online. still getting used to it.
hell i havent been able to sneak anywhere, keep getting picked off by like machine guns in 2 hits from across the map while i can only wound people after like 10 bursts. -
WebFire
What game? I play all Conquest and there seems to be hardly any sniping. You don't get much ground action until you get to the flags.Glory Days;954398 wrote:picked it up early today. got almost 2 hours online. still getting used to it.

Tanks are where it's at (only because I suck at flying any aircraft). -
bases_loadedPM me if your on psn with your gamer tag, I'm tired of the lack of team work
