Whats your fastest 40 time???

  • hasbeen
4.76 junior year on a track. Ran a 7.5 60 freshmen year of college in grass in cleats.

I guarantee I can run under a 5.0 right now and that's not doing shit for 2 years. I ran a 4.64 my senior year in high school at the bowlingreen univ. Camp so yeah it's legit

    Fastest 40-time: 4.88

Definitely wasn't a WR or RB.

I had friends who played on the football team in high school, and they were timed every season. Some of them also played basketball, and I knew how fast I was compared to them.

It's very inexact, but I was never timed so that's the best guess I could give.

And those were their hand-timed times. I don't think anyone posted below 4.6 hand-timed that I ever heard of while I was in school.

Now I ran 4.6 hand timed in school so I would be a legit 4.84 FAT. Now we used to run these timed all the time and had a coach that was good at it.
If you ran a legit 4.8 then distance running is the wrong sport for you. I'm calling B.S. on you and your so-called good coach at hand timing.

hand timed? Why does being at a camp you paid for make it legit?

Does skin color effect the aerodynamics of a runner or something?

It was electric timed and I didn't pay for it. We went as a team.

Shocking! What was your 800m and mile record? Damn, I wonder how fast ya could have gone back in the day, if you woulda trained with Schul........?

At 170 pounds, I couldn't break 5.0 even in the best shape of my life.

5 years later, after studying exercise science and the related courses, I ran a 4.8 at 215 pounds.

A legit 4.8 is nothing. Its these sub 4.6's that i dont really believe. I mean i dont think everyone is lying i just wouldnt believe it unless i saw it.

4.83 was the best I could do. I'm a tall and lanky linemen so I suppose I didn't have to be too fast...

    Feeling left out?

It is usually more of a sliding scale...the faster you run, the lower your ACT score and so on...for example:

    My 40: 5.0
My fastball: 75 (at least thats what the booth at the carnival said)
    My ACT: 27

    A friends 40: 4.7
    Fastball: 87
    ACT: 19

I drained a Colt 45 / 40 in 12.7 sec. this past weekend. Woulda been even faster if my flat billed cap hadn't fell off.

Laughing at all other posts that say 4.something.

People have no idea how fast 4.something is. I coached football for 14 years in a program that had some seriously fast kids, but we never had more than a few kids who were sub 4.8

Coaches who hand time their kids aren't helping them at all. Digital times (the machines that use laser finish lines) should be the only times EVER used.
Sounds like you had slow players to me
