Possibly, but not everyone is/was slowTHE4RINGZ;889285 wrote:It also appears I am the only honest poster on this thread. -
RotinajAlso im guessing most of these were hand timed. I run a legit 4.1 btw. Ask my dad.

I was going to say I ran a hand-timed 4.7 in high school. So give or take .5.Rotinaj;889293 wrote:Also im guessing most of these were hand timed. I run a legit 4.1 btw. Ask my dad. -
sportchamppsI ran a 4.5 in high school sr year and i was pretty damn fast. Now it would probably be a 5.5. I had a friend run a 4.3 his freshmen year HS (he also came in second in the 100) but he never got any faster he actaully got slower. His best moment was beating Maurice Hall.

BR1986FB"Flip the light switch and be in bed before the room gets dark" fast...that's how fast!
Actually, 2 weeks. -

My 40 is not nearly as impressive as my mile, two-mile, 5k and 8k. -
Scarlet_FeverI was told 4.7 by coaches but hand timed and I bet the guy doing it had a slow finger to start it and a quick to stop it.
-
Ironman92My top track sprinters were 4.55ish
-
MulvaI was never timed, but comparing my speed to players on the football team who were I always guessed I would have been in the 4.65-4.75 range.
-
End of LineI was hand timed as well, so it was most likely off.
-
Tobias Fünke4.9, not bad for a OG/DE weighing 250.
-
redstreak oneElectronic timed sr year college 4.98 DE 6'5" 280 at the time.

You quit football after 6th grade. So how did you compare that?Mulva;889570 wrote:I was never timed, but comparing my speed to players on the football team who were I always guessed I would have been in the 4.65-4.75 range. -

Same, 4.8 in HS was my fastest.1_beast;889199 wrote:Spinning off again....c'mon you All-Americans.....post it
i busted out a 4.8....not too bad for a slow white guy -
NateI still have finished the whole 40 yards.. I started last week.

luckydog4.6 in '78......I think we used a sundial back then

Laughing at all other posts that say 4.something.
People have no idea how fast 4.something is. I coached football for 14 years in a program that had some seriously fast kids, but we never had more than a few kids who were sub 4.8
Coaches who hand time their kids aren't helping them at all. Digital times (the machines that use laser finish lines) should be the only times EVER used. -
chicago510I've never been timed, but I'm white, so there is no way i was anything below 5 seconds.

No doubt about it. Like WebFire said, give or take .5.
From what I could find, Jerome Bettis ran 4.56 coming out of college and he was considered a slow RB/Fullback! (Even tho' he also competed on the ND track team)
All you white boys saying you ran like 4.6's to 4.8's are full of sh*t. -
thedynasty1998I hope the people claiming 4.5-4.6's don't really believe that.

LJ4.8something hand timed
probably in the 4.9 range if it had been electronic. Our 3 stars were high 4.6 low 4.7.
