Played Football in middle school: WR, LB, CB
    Basketball in high school: PG
Baseball when I was younger: CF/P

Should have played all three sports in high school but my head wasn't where it should have been and I wasn't mature enough at the time. Quit baseball because I thought it was too boring and none of our great athletes played Football at my high school so I guess I went with that. Have been told many times by different people that I missed my calling as a QB and that I could've done big things with that. Basketball is and will always be my first love though and love anything that you can be competitive at.

I tried out for football, but they said I was too skinny and sent me back to class.
I feel terrible for you. I ran the 100 200 4x1 and 4x2. Probably would of died attempting to run the events you did during a meet. Also played baseball, basketball and football diff years in hs. Only Football and track senior year though.

Football: CB/LB and WR/RB. Started at QB one game when our QB decided to walk off the field and "quit". He came back the next day but was suspended for one game. Also KR and PR.

Basketball: Center/post until they realized I hadn't grown any taller, then Forward.

    Baseball: Outfield, some catcher.

I quit football (QB and WR) and baseball (Pitcher and 1B) after 6th grade. Baseball got boring and football was starting to become way more work than I was willing to put in. Morning lifts and 2-a-day practices in August were not the way I wanted to spend my summer.

I played anywhere from 2-5 in basketball and guarded every position at some point defensively. Started at 3 and 4 depending on the season.

    Wrestling K-8th grade.
Soccer 6th grade to Fr HS & post college (*semi-pro B-league bench warmer)
Cross Country Soph HS to college
    Track Fr HS to college.

*Being a former competitive distance runner got me a bench warmer spot on a semi-pro soccer team. I'd go in and run around like a chicken with his head cut off second half. Also should mention we lost every game.

    LF, CF, RF, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, P

I've probably played every position at one time or other, but was a pitcher and SS coming up the leagues to High school. In High school I pitched and played RF.
Our HS coach wanted his infield to play as a unit, hence very little substitutions there unless the game was a blow out. We had a 4 man rotation....the day after you pitched, you played RF....the day after that , you were the first out of the pen...the day before your next start you kept book. It hardly varied from that script unless we had a string of rainouts.
  • karen lotz
Just saying you weren't good enough to play short anymore would have been sufficient.
  • HitsRus
We had a great shortstop and he couldn't pitch.;)
  • karen lotz
Ha I was just joking anyway.
  • HitsRus
^^^Haha. it is kind of funny remembering our quirky coach...I've never heard anything similar. The infield was a unit...the pitching staff was a unit...and never the two should meet! Our staff "ace" was a big lanky lefthander who was probably a pretty good first baseman in his own right. He'd always be buggin the coach..."Ist base today, coach?"....our coach ( who was a former player at Purdue)...would just point to right field and tell him to get his ass out there.!

good times...glory days....I do miss playing.
