Suck it ESPN.

I hate it when there are no sports on around 7:00-11:00 and all they show is old World Series of poker tourney's.

I might believe the whole "they're just covering news" angle if they actually had ever reported on Ben Roethlisberger's pending investigations in Nevada.

That's a hell of a lot more newsworthy than a guy sleeping around....hell, if they covered that, they could cover two of those a day for an entire year and not hit everyone in MLB alone.

So a guy not having a wife and sleeping with someone is bigger news than someone cheating on their wife with about a dozen people even when they have children together?

^No. The Tiger cheating scandal is news I would expect ESPN to cover and news they should cover. He's arguably the biggest name in sports. But the way they overreacted about his mother-in-law was ridiculous. I could see them mentioning it, but for them to spend a few minutes on it--play the 911 call, have an on-site reporter trying to get more details about it. Trying to get Tiger or his agent to make a statement about it...stupid.

When lawsuits are filed that allege sexual assault and/or rape, it's a hell of a lot more newsworthy than someone cheating on his wife if no crime is committed. One is news because it involves criminal statutes, the other involves taking a page from the "Entertainment Tonight" shows of the world.

Guess what? I know full well that an overwhelming majority of major league athletes in all sports who are married have cheated on their wives at some point. It's something that is recognized by anyone who's ever been involved in top-level sports, and that goes for the media as well.

The difference between Roethlisberger and Woods is like the difference between being indicted for drug trafficking or having a few too many at the hotel bar. One is a crime, the other is something that just isn't a good idea.

The difference is Ben slept with some girl who lied about it and was exposed as a liar in no time and the chosen one Woods cheated on his wife many times.

So what? One involved the legal system, and the other involved police saying "Mr. Woods will be cited for this, and our investigation is over." That's the end of the story right there.

Know who else is covering this story ad nauseum? Check the covers of People, Us Weekly, the National Enquirer, and other trash magazines that have nothing better to do than to dredge up (perfectly legal) dirt.

I don't care if Tiger Woods runs a harem out of his basement. If no crimes are being committed, there's no story that ESPN should be covering.

Doesn't make me think any less of him as a golfer.

I just canceled my espn updates for my blackberry because that shit was getting annoying. I would get 3 or 4 a day with nothing but garbage news. I got 2 talking about tigers mother-in-law. That has nothing to do with sports and I could care less about that woman.
