Should Mcdonalds employees wear their uniforms out to the bar? It's a job, like anything else. Thanks for serving our country, but at the same time you earn a paycheck. I will say just a few things.
1. I am proud of my uniform, and will wear it anywhere, anytime and not be embarrassed. If someone doesn't feel that way, they shouldn't wear the uniform at all.
2. Those early 20 something kids that joked behind his back will be the same once that look back when they are 45, and wish they had joined the military.
3. They rest of the military will poke fun at each other, but nobody scoffs at another service member willing to serve.
4. If you have a problem with any of this, I will personally show you how tough the Navy made me.
I personally say fuck you to the both of you, and I don't care what repercussions come from it. I would rather not be on this site, than to see you fuckers bash those that make it possible for you to post the ignorant shit that usually comes from your heads. -

It's not tacky, it's pride. If a person is that proud of working at McDonalds, and they want to wear their uniform out in public, good for them.DeyDurkie5;874595 wrote:Should Mcdonalds employees wear their uniforms out to the bar? Proud of what? Going to the local douchebag Navy recruiter and signing a few forms?brutus161;874617 wrote:Well, the kid was home for the first time since joining. He was proud, and wanted to show it off.
It's not difficult to join the military, that's why a majority are a bunch of washed up kids who couldn't cut it in the real world. He wore it for free drinks, period. -
fortfanAre you really allowed to get drunk and rowdy while in uniform? Seems like that would be douchebaggery. (My son is in the Air Force and you would never know it because he never wears a uniform and he rarely talks about it unless someone asks.)

Not that difficult? It is a proven fact that 80% of the people in the age group are unqualified from joining the Navy from either insufficient education, medical, or police involvement.sleeper;874623 wrote:Proud of what? Going to the local douchebag Navy recruiter and signing a few forms?

brutus161The douchebag Navy recruiter comment did make me laugh though. It's not the worst thing I have been called in my time as a recruiter.

It's also a proven fact that the government manipulates data to hoodwink the masses(read: the ignorant) in order to perpetuate the myth that joining the Navy is somehow an accomplishment. That's why I'll never hire a person from the military, they've been hoodwinked and brainwashed to the point where they can't even think for themselves anymore. Keep on showboating your mediocre career and justifying the douche bag servicemen who think they are entitled to something because they signed a few papers and refueled aircraft for a living.brutus161;874626 wrote:Not that difficult? Probably by the people too intelligent to join a intellectual sink hole like the Navy.brutus161;874627 wrote:The douchebag Navy recruiter comment did make me laugh though. It's not the worst thing I have been called in my time as a recruiter.
Furthermore, you know how they say "Those that can't do, teach."
Well, those that can't get a job, enlist. -

That guy just wants handouts. He was injured in combat, so I give him props, but he's still looking for charity as most members of the military are.enigmaax;870891 wrote:Serious business is gonna pick up when Tigerwhathisname gets ahold of this. -

I have a friend who is a Marine, and he even says that. He'd tell me that being in the Marines is basically a competition to see who can get into, and then out of, the most shit.
He's an adrenaline junkie and I'm not certain that he isn't just a little bit crazy, so it suits him. He never does the uniform thing when at home, though. I asked him about that once. His reply was something to the effect of, "My real uniform is a ghillie suit. You really wanna be seen with me in that?"
I lol'd.

Guys who go out in full gear are douches.
This. I've yet to meet someone who went out in uniform who wasn't wanting:
(a) a handout
(b) a bunch of compliments and thanks
(c) some ass
What do they all have in common? They're all about the person wearing the uniform. If a person is so focused on gaining recognition for themselves like that, I have a hard time calling it "service."
If anything, those people do a disservice to those who serve and do nothing to elicit any recognition for themselves. I am honored to be related to several of the latter, and they have not only my respect, but my admiration.
Maybe it's just me, but this sounded violent. Doesn't seem like something someone would say if they were fighting to protect the rights of others to not be in fear.brutus161;874399 wrote:4. If you have a problem with any of this, I will personally show you how tough the Navy made me.
You might not like what he says, but at least show respect for the right that he has to say it ... a right you are protecting with your service.

I've never seen someone who wore their uniform out, but didn't act like they were pining for attention.

I don't love the term "douchey," but I agree that it's nothing more than a cry for attention.
brutus161;874617 wrote:Well, the kid was home for the first time since joining. He was proud, and wanted to show it off.
He wanted free drinks and accolades. A patriot does his job out of a sense of true service, without seeking special attention.
Not at all, but if you ask anyone who is in the military, they will tell you that there are those who are in it for that purpose.ernest_t_bass;874884 wrote:"Wanted attention." That what the armed forces are all about?
Even still, if they are willing to head to the front lines, I won't refuse their actions, whether or not I disapprove of their motives. -

Seriously brutus...have YOU ever dressed up in your uniform and went out to a bar? I am not talking like when you are on deployment and such and had no other option.brutus161;874617 wrote:Well, the kid was home for the first time since joining. He was proud, and wanted to show it off.
My brother was in the navy for 7 years. Not once would he ever have done such a thing. Matter of fact, he always made fun of guys who would do such a thing.
I think it is retarded for anyone to dress up and go out in their military uniform. It is just screaming..."look at me..loook at me".
Was he proud? Fuck yeah he is, as he should be. There is a sense of pride in being in the service, no doubt about that, but I have learned that those who really are 'in your face' about it typically are the douchers. -
thavoiceYeah, there are douchebags in the military.
But there are also many very good individuals as well.
My brother got his electricla engineering degree before joining the Navy, and becoming a SEAL. It had been his life long dream to do so.
Sleeper is way off the deap end, as he usually is, when it comes to his opinions of the military. That is OK though, being an American means you can pretty much think and say whatever ya want.
I wouldnt say it is 'easy' to be in the military. Brutus is a recruiter and said taht 80% of the people dont even qualify.....I guess I have to believe him but I dont know if it is that high.
