Not the first time I've heard that -- and as a matter of fact, I even said that in my post.

    See:
Well, I have also been told, "You just don't like anything that is popular" or better explained, "I don't like things because everyone else likes them."
    Good job.

I can't figure out my next four though. Probably throw in No Country For Old Men, Green Street Hooligans, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (my favorite movie as a kid), American History X, Dumb and Dumber (my favorite comedy), and O Brother, Where Art Thou?.

I am sure there are several that I could put in front of those movies, but I can't think of all of them. I like Airplane!, the Bourne movies, the first 3 Indiana Jones movies, anything by John Candy, the Back to the Future movies, Remember the Titans, and The Green Mile.

Movies I despise that people have listed:
    300
    Old School
    Religulous
    -- more of a documentary
    Hangover
    Slumdog Millionaire
Religulous was a great documentary but I can see how many would not like it. Other documentary type movies I loved were Thank You For Smoking and Bowling for Columbine. I have heard many people say they weren't a fan of 300 and I can think of many reasons why someone wouldn't liek Old School and The Hangover. The most interesting one to me that you depise is Slumdog Millionaire though I really love that movie and haven't met someone who said they hated it..

Religulous wasn't very good, in my opinion. I even paid to see it in the movie theatre. Bill Maher was just over the top with overgeneralizations. He basically lumped everyone together as "Christian" when that wasn't the case.

I didn't like Bowling for Columbine either. For the simple fact that Michael Moore pieced things together wrong! The whole Charlton Heston thing was completely off base and wrong. And to "put it to" an elderly man with Alzheimer's is completely wrong. On the other hand, Thank You For Smoking was pretty interesting!

My favorite documentary is Once in a Lifetime - The Extraordinary Story of the New York Cosmos. It was incredible. Very factual. There was no "agenda" like most documentaries.

Honestly, I need to watch Slumdog Millionaire again. I saw it late at night and I was rather tired. I own it, so I should go back and watch it again when I am in a more pleasant mood to watch long, drawn-out movies.

Hated it. Was bored by the acting and plot. IMHO the Big Sleep, Sierra Madre and Maltese Falcon are much better.

Robert Rodriguez Says Sin City 2 and Machete 2 are Ready to ShootSubmit Comment
WeGotThisCovered website caught up with director Robert Rodriguez, who revealed that both "Sin City" and "Machete" sequels have been greenlit and are ready to shoot.

"'Sin City 2' is going good. We're just finishing the script for that. We already got the money," said the director. "We have everything we need so we can just start shooting as soon as we get the pages."

He continued: "And it's the same thing for 'Machete 2.' We've already got the budget, just waiting for the script. As soon as we're finished writing we get to start the shoot."

During Comic-Con, Rodriguez promised that "Sin City 2" will begin filming this year. It looks like that may happen. Stay tuned.

Good to hear about Sin City 2. As for Machete 2 I am not real interested. I'm not big on movies where political messages are pushed as hard as they were in Machete. It was generally entertaining but they definitely could have left their message out. I mean I understand a lot of movies have underlying themes but it was pretty outward in Machete. Just not my style.

Agreed, they tried to hard with the message in Machete. Would have been better without it. I also don't see a need for a sequel.

Add another guy to the list of those who didn't like 300. when someone I know referred to it as an historic film, I hated it even more. It reminded me of a terrible Star Trek episode.

Historic like meaning it had history behind it or historic like it was a bad ass movie?

Not necessarily my 'top 5' but I don't feel like rehashing movies everyone else has already said so I'm going with some of my lesser known favorites.

    1) Requiem for a Dream
    2) Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind
    3) What's Eating Gilbert Grape?
    4) Blow
    5) Children of Men

Also, I was a big fan of Sucker Punch. I went just to watch all the babes in it, but there was some frickin' awesome action and a little bit of a mind-f*** to it. Definitely entertaining

And as a couple curveballs, I laughed very hard at and thoroughly enjoyed both Dispicable Me and Rango. Very entertaining animated films.

These are all great movies, but the very ending of Children of Men just sucked, great movie up until the last 5 minutes!

Yeah I agree with you there. It was kind of anti-climatic. But they were trying to stay consistent with the novel.
