Just awful. My stomach literally drops every time I hear about more of our soldiers getting killed over there. It's something that I haven't become immune too, even after all this time. Knowing this team are the ones who took out that bastard makes this all the more awful.

Either GTFO of the country or start bombing everything. This war is not working. Talked to a soldier on the plane home from Atlanta the other day, he said it is a complete joke over there and as soon as we leave they will go back to how they were. Our Gubment is ratarded.

It was a complete joke from day 1.

My friend has been over there 3 times now. He said if we pull out now the last 10 years won't matter but progress is being made.

I agree 100%. It's been almost 10 years, what progress has there been over there? A couple elections? Real freakin' nice. And I use the term 'election' loosely.

It's a losing cause over there and has been from the start. Superior military or not, it's just something you're probably not going to win. Just ask the Soviets. Right now there's too many of those insurgent and Taliban ass wipes there and too many more waiting to take their place. They know the land, they have support/aid from outside of the country along with many of those living in it.

The whole war on terror concept is kind of a joke to me. No matter how many of them you hunt down and kill, terrorism will still exist. Terrorism has always existed through history and will continue to always exist. Unless all the crazy asswipes and extremists just suddenly disappear through out the world, terrorism isn't going anywhere. We would have been better off spending the crap loads of money on improving security and defense here.

I'm hearing through AP sources on Twitter that none of the members of Team 6 involved in the killing of OBL were involved in the chopper crash that killed 20 members of Team 6. Regardless, still utterly sad and at this point, rather senseless.

How so? It is not anymore awful than a Private or anyone else being KIA.

We heard all about Team 6 in the headlines when they took out OBL. We heard all about how the mission was executed. Knowing they were the ones who took OBL out and hearing about how they did it causes me to have a more emotional tie to them than someone I've never read about. Every loss is tragic, but there's more of an emotional tie that exists in this instance.

Wouldn't surprise me, the White House needs a distraction and just being 31 soldiers wouldn't be enough of a story for this country.

You said it's more awful. You have never heard of Marines or Soldiers or Airmen or Squids?

Damn it does matter who was killed! Pat Tillman, my brother or guys from Seal Team 6. They are all the same.

I also said there is more of an emotional attachment to this particular team because of what they did. It's an opinion of mine. For 2 weeks straight we heard nothing but the death of OBL and the SEALS behind it. This team was behind one of the most important missions and assassinations in quite some time. Like I said, every loss is a tragedy. However, there is an emotional tie to this team for what they did and what we know about them. It's just my opinion so don't get butt hurt. As I stated before, every time I read about any soldier dying, my stomach drops. However, that feeling is worse this time as they were a part of an important and well talked about mission that became their crowning achievement.

Every soldier is a hero. No one will ever dispute that. However, people tend to favor emotionally those whose heroic actions are known about, talked about, published, romanticized about, etc. That is a fact.

    +1. Every single time

I use to not have an opinion one way or the other on the war on terror, but I'm starting to question how worthwhile it's been. I guess after a couple years when hundreds of thousands are withdrawn, we'll see.

Sad and unnecessary loss. We need to bring these men home.

With that sad, I'm sure the White House is loving this. A beautiful distraction when Obama is at his worst.

These 2 posts might be the most offensive I've ever read on here. Soldiers died in service to their country and you want to politicize it like that. GTFO and if you must spew that fucking shit take it to the Political Forum and continue your circle jerk over there.

These posts are the most offensive I've read on here. Talk about insensitive fucking assholes. Soldiers die in the service to their country and you have to politicize it and act like the POTUS is enjoying it. Like the President or not, these posts go beyond idiotic. Mourn the tremendous loss to this country then GTFO and take your shit to the political forum where you can continue your circle jerk over there.

Headlines were along the lines of "SEAL members that took down Osama killed in crash". Now its being reported that they were just members of SEAL team 6. Unfortunately the media probably doesn't make a big deal if its just 31 soldiers killed. And nothing the POTUS has ever done shows me he gives two shits about our military men and women so fuck him.

    Unbelievable. You are fucking unbelievable.

When's the last time you've heard on the news of soldiers dying in Afghanistan or Iraq? You don't think its at all curious that the day after Obama allows this country to be downgraded that we start hearing more from Afghanistan?

Sounds like someone needs to get back to reality.
