i have never tried a GL beer. Might have to one day though. Is there a good starter beer to try?
its going to be hard to justify the cost, but their Dortmunder Gold is about as close as you'll come to a Budweiser/Coors/Miller brew. It runs about $8.99 for the six pack, but its a good brew. From there I would recomend trying the Elliot Ness and and the Commodore Perry (only if you like hoppy IPA style beers, kinda a bittersweet grapefruit flavor going on). Enjoy. -
I Wear PantsWhat kind of beer do you like?

coyotes22Bud/Bud Light are the only beers I have ever drank.

I will have to try it some time. If its that good, it may have to be special occasion beer, as I stated earlier, I dont really ever buy beer to have at home. -
coyotes22Also, I have a stupid question. Can you buy this beer anywhere? IE- Gas station, Giant Eagle, etc. Anywhere in Stark County?
-
karen lotzProbably not everywhere. I do believe Giant Eagle carries it. Be sure to try the Christmas Ale in November/December.

Yes. Pretty much. You can get it for sure at Giant Eagle.coyotes22;838623 wrote:Also, I have a stupid question. Can you buy this beer anywhere? IE- Gas station, Giant Eagle, etc. Anywhere in Stark County?
Where at in Stark? Might be able to tell you if they have it. -

What kind of flavor does the Christmas Ale have? Is that the only time they sell it?karen lotz;838624 wrote:Probably not everywhere. I do believe Giant Eagle carries it. Be sure to try the Christmas Ale in November/December.
Well, if I ever do buy beer, I just run up to the Marathon/Bell Store station at the end of my street (39th and Cleveland Ave). But there is a GE on 30th street. And we go to the Wall Mart on Tusc.I Wear Pants;838634 wrote:Yes. Pretty much. You can get it for sure at Giant Eagle.

I Wear PantsBoth Walmart and GE will have it. GE definitely will though.
And the Christmas Ale is indeed seasonal. -
coyotes22I think we have to go to the store tomorrow, I will have to look into this more.
-
Crimson streakIt's too bad they don't sell it here in pa. When I make a trip to Ohio to visit my parents I'm definitely going to have to pick up a six pack

sherm03Saw posters at the brewery today for River Fest (at least I think that is what its called) that's going on tonight. They said that Christmas Ale would be making a "special appearance." Wish I had the time to make it to that tonight

Well, it's not watered down like Bud Light, etc. but if you think the DG is strong.....you probably wanna steer clear of the Edmund Fitzgerald. LOL -

They have done that in the past, they call it Christmas in July.... pretty sure they do it for the rib cook off as well -

Tis true, for the Burning River Fest.
Unfortunately I can't find too many GLB in NYC/NJ. Every time I go back to Ohio I make sure to stock up. -

...and Lake Erie Monster. Going from watered down Bud/Miller/Coors any decent APV will seem strong. -

Flavor. It was good, dont get me wrong.
I think that if Im ever out at a bar, and they have GLB, I may mix one or two in, along with a bud light. -

Interesting. Kinda like mixing in a porterhouse with a McD's cheeseburger? -

Esp, with the budget of a cheesburger.
