Great Lakes Beer
-
tuskytuffguySo, I tried something new earlier. It was Lake Erie Monster. A 9.1% IPA. Wasn't too shabby, if you like a strong, hoppy beer. Just wondered if others have had it, and what you thought? I know there's Great Lakes lovers on here.
-
killer_ewokI enjoyed it. A very good beer.

bigdaddy2003Have wanted to try Great Lakes but haven't yet. May do that next weekend.
-
adogHad a few last weekend..loved it

Curly JThe Lake Eire Monster was a pretty dang good beer. Their Seasonal Beers are pretty good, but their year round beers are just okay. (IMO) They are pretty much over priced in SW Ohio, so I choose better beers at the same price point.
Lots more info about some of their beers on this thread. --> http://www.ohiochatter.com/forum/threads/22397-Beer-discussion-(former-Walgreens-beer-thread) -
THE4RINGZConway's Irish Ale is my favorite.
-
tuskytuffguyHave always loved Dortmunder, Burning River, and Holy Moses, too. I dunno why, but I seem fascinated with the names and labels they come up with. The Lake Erie Monster label is beast.
-
gerb131I like the Burning River the best but I think there beers are all above average.
-
Laley23All their beers are good. They are strong, and you get fucked up off them, so thats a huge + as well.
They are quite expensive though, unless you are at the Brewer in Cleveland. -
tuskytuffguyAlways wanted to go to their diner/pub. Ahhh, someday.... But, I'm gonna have to get a room, lol. The store I got the Lake Erie Monster from was selling 4-packs of it for $10. I bought a single for $2.75. I love their beers, but I only buy it when I got the mullah.
-
sherm03I had the Lake Erie Monster brew a few weeks back. Pretty good shit. But I expected nothing less from Great Lakes.

O-TrapWas a fan of the LEM. Several of their seasonals are solid. Obviously the Christmas Ale gets all the press (though I actually prefer Thirsty Dog's Christmas ale to GL). The Nosferatu is solid as well.
I had a chance to eat dinner at the Great Lakes Brewing Company last week. It was a lot of fun, and the beers are somehow better on tap (had an American Pale Ale, an IPA, and a Porter).
I'm of the persuasion that Great Lakes is often overpriced, but I don't mind it so much if I can afford it, because I like buying local, and when it comes with some quality, well that just makes me all the more proud to buy local. -
sherm03I have a show on Saturday in Cleveland. Just found out that the venue is literally 4 and a half miles from Great Lakes Brewery.
I know what I'll be doing Saturday before the show. -

You're still getting paid to be not funny? -
SonofanumpWas at the brewpub about 10 days ago. Hit the sampler, then a belgian blueberry wheat, then hit the monster again, then the blueberry wheat again, then took the fatty wagon to the tribe game to sober up.

The Edmund Fitzgerald might be one of the better porters I've had. Southern Tier has a good one too, but I'm a fan. -
I Wear PantsEdmund Fitzgerald is my favorite GL year round beer.

I'm honestly just about to pour one right now. Damn good but I haven't had it in a while. -
tcarrier32edmund fitz is my favorite beer.
however, i do have the holy moses white ale illustration framed and hanging above my bedroom door. (as an athiest, something about Moses Cleveland parting Lake Erie really makes me smile every time I look at it) safe to say i love great lakes, its one of the reasons i'm happy to live in ohio. -
